Whilst Brawn's nimble footwork is admirable and up for discussion, but there comes a time when personal grudges and conspiracy theories need to go the abyss.

God knows I've dived into a few abysses myself through the years, but none of them were locked?

Not really, such a topic should be opened for use.

There are some finer points of Mercedes AMG Petronas I'd like to discuss in the public forum with xpensive.

If one can't discuss matters regarding a team here, then where can one discuss these things? Obviously there is a topic for such things, yet said topic is not open? That's hardly reasonable.

Those finer points seem to be qualified as conspiracy theory and personal grudges by the mods, hence the lock one would guess.

Posts that are on topic and constructive are welcome.

Reheating grand conspiracies about Ecclestone's spanner man are not. We all know Merc threads have been blighted by that in the past, don't let it happen again.

It's "spannerman" Richard, possibly "spanner-man", but "spanner man" is a verbal abomination.

I've got a serious question.

I was under the impression Mercedes/Daimler has rules about corporate responsibility and the like, so why are they still competing in F1 after what's gone on with Ecclestone and company?

I had heard that were Bernard to be indicted, that would lead to a withdrawal as a competing team, yet they continue onward. Any reason for this?

Just let it go GB, please try and read between the lines here, those things are considered OT for this thread, perhaps you should open another one if you persist to discuss the influence of MrE's judicial predicaments on Daimler?

It's that time of year when we need our traditional "Silly Season" thread to avoid multiple team threads talking about the same thing. We usually try to keep the team threads to discussion of this team, this season.
