Interesting point actually, wonder if anyone will refute it. I also wonder if that's because simulations of the blown diffusers are not that great so that the aerodynamicists rely more on their intuition than computers / wind tunnel.

Why would there be a DDD in 2008? The DDD was created to sidestep the diffuser restrictions in 2009.

But it still allows you you produce an extra diffuser that is not in the regulated diffuser zone.

Also interesting to think what the pecking order would be. Would Mclaren/Ferrari have stayed at the top? Would BMW and Honda still be in F1? Would Red Bull have made their ascent to the top?

I think the pecking order would be closer to what it was in 08 rather than now.

i dont think there any space or much benefit for a double deck in the 08 rules though, completely different rear ends.
