2013 Car Comparison

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It's all getting abit boring at the back, isn't it. Let's hope 2014 gives us some real mullets to look at.

I am hoping that we will see exhaust flames from the single turbo, single exhaust exit set up. (Instead of those big central cooling holes)

I think these 2 pictures show a great rake comparison between RB and McL.

Note the difference in diffuser edge to the rim.

The diffuser line is always blue and the red line is between the wheel rims.

See how the McLaren diffuser line is well below the wheel line, whereas the redbull is almost the same distance above the wheel line.

Not really, we have no idea how compressed the suspension was on either car here.

Which still doesn't tell us how hard they were accelerating or braking, nor how much fuel they had on board.

Ok. Well any other pic should show the same thing.

No, other pics would show different levels of compression on the suspension depending on fuel load, and car pitch.

Exhausts pointing differently on each car.

The Coanda effect is to keep them onto a surface, but still they point it different.

I'm publishing it here since somebody told me from another post.

I find it highly intriguing that the Lotus and Sauber - arguably last year's tyre kings - are running parallel steering - no Ackerman/anti-Ackerman involved (or at least that's what it looks like to me based on photographs). Thoughts?
