Is it true that they'll built "hybrid" cars, with higher downforce levels, in order to test the 2017 compounds?

Pirelli has revealed the full details of its 2017 Formula 1 tyre-testing schedule with Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes sharing the running on the experimental rubber.
The three teams will each conduct three individual tests over 21 days before coming together for a final three-day run at the end of the season.
All three outfits will use modified 2015 cars and will be obliged to share all the data they gather with the other F1 outfits.
so in testing kimi managed a faster lap than hamilton managed for pole... better conditions i guess... go figure.. what tire was he on?
