Exhaust opening

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

The exhaust will glow red when ticking over, and translucent when at full throttle.I think they're made of Inconel but i'm not 100%.I've been looking everywhere for an interview i had in a mag with Steve Berry, the guy who specialises in making exhausts by hand for Williams. All he does all day every day is shape exhausts, and you'd be surprised the work that goes into their manufacture. They're classed as an 'A-part' of the car because an exhaust breakage could result in a race retirement.I have a DVD that shows an '02 Honda on the dyno, but that doesn't glow red/white all the way to the tip,and it looks to me that they are doubled in thickness about four inches from the end.I'm no exhaust expert though! :)
