When he gets 3 championships he will leave Mclaren. I am a mclaren fan, but i think ferrari is a better team overall.

Hamilton will leave Mclaren, they don't own him. So i give him till he's 28.

Vettel will be at redbull as long as Newey is there.
For Sure!!

I cannot see Vettel at Ferrari yet.
He needs to mature a lot IMO.
He has the speed in the best car but not as fast as Hamilton.
In a slower car he would not perform as well IMO.

its not jsut his speed, he lacks the race craft & fighting spirit of someone like hamilton. that RB6 is just a monster.

How quickly people forget. Vettel not fast in a slower car?

In his rookie year he won the Italian GP in a Toro Rosso! He is quicker than Webber too, but the latter has found a way to dig deep and outclass his younger teammate regardless. That says more about Webber's remarkable mental elasticity than about Vettel's abilities or perceived lack thereof.

I think Vettel is the real deal. He is still in the race for the championship, and even if he doesn't win it this year, I am convinced he will at some point.

Sebastian Vettel could join Ferrari “in a few years”

Young hotshot Sebastian Vettel, who is seen by many (including Bernie Ecclestone) as the brightest spark in F1, has expressed his desire to one day join Ferrari. The 22-year old stated to Spain’s El Pais newspaper, “I am very happy with Red Bull, I am not going anywhere else, but in the future, I don’t know.

“I want to fight for the world championship, and if you look at the past, Ferrari has always designed very competitive cars. Why not go there in a few years? Ferrari is unlike any other team, it’s a legend. There are other brands that achieve great success, but Ferrari is special,” he praised.

While the above quote is just Vettel not closing any future doors, his on-form team mate and new championship leader Mark Webber has already been linked to the Maranello based team for the 2011 season. It’s very early in the season but all sorts of transfer talk are already circulating in the paddock. While everyone successful will be inevitably linked to the Scuderia, Red Bull is not a bad team to drive for, as clearly displayed by the super quick RB6 that rivals have no answer for at the moment.

Didn't he race for BMW before? Anyway.. the Torro rosso was the fastest car for that track at the time anyway. Buemi could have won that race.

He raced for BMW for 1 race, and a few for Toro Rosso at the end of 2007. 2008 was his first full season, and with it came his first victory at Monza. Buemi didn't exist in F1 at the time.

Not yet. Give him 2 or 3 years -- when Massa is dropped.

Bourdais qualified in fourth, and set the second fastest lap of the race. I fear his statement bears some weight.

The Torro Rosso was probably one of the best cars at Monza 2008. However, if you look at the results of both drivers in 2008, Vettel pretty much blew Bourdais away.

Obivously.

I watched the whole season. Wasn't trying to start a Vettel/Bourdais debate, just ringing home the fact that BOTH drivers for STR showed well at that race, even though Seabass had technical issues at the start.

I personally think one day Vettel will drive for McLaren or Ferrari. Mercedes are certainly interested in him. I do believe that if things had gone Ron Dennis's way it would have been him alongside Lewis and not Heikki Kovalainen. No offense to Heikki who's a great driver, but I don't think they're in the same league. Oh, how 2008 could've been different if he were there.

Fair enough. But surely that does not take away from the fact that Vettel had an amazing rookie year.

He was quite stunning in monaco 2008 and also china 2008 as I recall. Or China 2007. Fuji 2007 he was en route to a podium but there were some controversial moves by Hamilton and Webber (if I recall correctly) that caused Vettel to crash into Webber
