I think Button did the right thing in Japan. On pure pace, the McLaren is nowhere near the Red Bulls (and even the Ferrari) and that is unlikely to change in the next three races IMO. Unless Button (and Hamilton) do something different to the front runners, he is very unlikely to win the championship. Doing what everyone else did would just let Button finish behind all his championship rivals.
