Maybe because Mark is constantly moaning about the team, instead of knuckling down and trying to beat his teammate?Mandrake wrote:What I'm wondering about is, why do they favour Vettel over Webber, if they do at all? Surely there must have been a reason why Mark has a worse stand in that team.
And I'm still sure they'll find a way to get both titles, even without officially using team orders.
The perception of #1 status of Vettel is IMHO much due to Mark's moaning and constantly stirring the media pot, sometimes even putting the team bosses in an unpleasant situation.gilgen wrote:Maybe because Mark is constantly moaning about the team, instead of knuckling down and trying to beat his teammate?Mandrake wrote:What I'm wondering about is, why do they favour Vettel over Webber, if they do at all? How on earth do you know that?BMW_F1 wrote:They have double standards - only applying the equal policy card when Vettel trails Webber on points. It it was the other way around, Webber would be supporting Vettel all the way.
That proves nothing! I presume you mean that IN YOUR OPINION, that sent a clear message. Funny how Webber was ok with it, as he found that it made no difference to his lap times, whereas it DID help Vettels times. The decision was a "no brainer".BMW_F1 wrote:..simple..
when Vettel was slightly ahead on points at one time during the season they took Webber's new front wing and put it on Vettel's car...sending a clear message of the team favoring one driver over the other..
Yeah. In my view (I repeat. MY VIEW) when Mark's got a problem, he takes it to the media and pressures the team. Vettel does a more leader-like, endearing, "come on guys. We lose together, but let's make it so that we win together and bounce back stronger" Real life is rarely ever black and white with 1 side an unsung, oppressed hero, and the other a pantomime villain.Dragonfly wrote:The perception of #1 status of Vettel is IMHO much due to Mark's moaning and constantly stirring the media pot, sometimes even putting the team bosses in an unpleasant situation.gilgen wrote:Maybe because Mark is constantly moaning about the team, instead of knuckling down and trying to beat his teammate?Mandrake wrote:What I'm wondering about is, why do they favour Vettel over Webber, if they do at all? Both drivers still have their title chances and it will be fair one of them eventually to help the other when it becomes clear he's lost his chances depending on how the race unfolds at Abu Dhabi.
I did hear about that as well... I saw an article once which my friend showed me that tells how Mark actually thought the car didn't benefit from the wing, and it might in fact have made him slower. Then after FP2 Mark said he didn't like it while Vettel liked it. But when his was being given to Vettel's, then started to blab to the media on how it was favoritism etc.gilgen wrote:That proves nothing! It is ok to have an opinion, but it is better to rely on fact.
you will never be able to prove that a team has preferential treatment over one of their drivers - you just notice it.gilgen wrote:That proves nothing!
