Not even close, unless he was working for more than one team in 1983?

That'll be the RAM 001 powered by a Ford Cosworth DFV. Drivers were Eliseo Salazar, Jean-Louis Schlesser, Jacques Villeneuve and Kenny Acheson.

The only qualified 3 times that year and had 2 finishes. 15th in Brazil for Salazar and a 12th in South Africa for Acheson.

(Strictly speaking it was March-RAM).

As I said, it was my turn to get my wires crossed, this was the intention;

In 1983, Tony Southgate helped design an F1 car for which team?

Gold star for naming the engine and/or drivers.

Btw, Andrew's answer was probably correct the way the Q came out.

Osella FA1D with a Ford V8. Drivers were Corrado Fabi and Piercarlo Ghinzani.

Close, he did some work on that one, but he also designed one from scratch which debuted mid-season.

Would that be the Osella FA1E with an Alfa Romeo V12?

Indeed, with a very strange front suspension layout. Otherwise the chassis was pretty advanced for the time,
basically built from two sheets of honeycomb, engine was a dog though.

Now that you helped me save face by answering correct twice, your ball Andrew!

Who has the unenviable record for being the only driver to be shown the black flag during a race for going too slow?

For a bonus point, what car were they driving (car and engine), what race was this in and in what year?

Al Pease

Pease was the only F1 driver ever to be disqualified for being too slow. Driving an uncompetitive Eagle-Climax in the 1969 Canadian Grand Prix, he was several laps down at the time but still determined to have a scrap with anybody who came up behind him. When a rather dastardly swipe nearly took Jackie Stewart out of the race, team owner Ken Tyrrell lodged a complaint with the stewards and Pease was shown the black flag.

Chassis: Eagle Mk1
Engine: Climax Straight-4
Race: Canadian GP 1969, Mosport Park

Who famously changed his mind about lifting the throttle on the racing line while being lapped in monsoon conditions?

Coulthard lifted the throttle on the racing line while being lapped by Schumacher at Spa 1998, which caused Schumi to lose the race. Was that what was on your mind?

WhiteBlue, whilst your answer is correct, you should wait until this person who has posted the question has confirmed your answer as being correct before proceeding. It is only polite and last I heard politeness costs nothing. [-X

And I don't think the answer is Coulthard. He was given an order to brake and proceeded to obey this order rather too well. It must be someone who was being lapped/passed then decided that they did not want to be lapped/passed.

It wasn't Irvine unlapping himself at Suzuka causing Senna to belt him one?
