Wrong. That is actually the replica built by Mercedes three years ago!

My, aren't we a bit nit picky here? I do accept the "Blaues Wunder" replica cheerily as really cool like the Me262 and the 1938 Auto Union Type D replica. 8)

Gabriele Tarquini? 1987 Osella • 1988 Coloni• 1989 First Racing• 1989–1991 AGS • 1991–1992 Fondmetal • 1995 Tyrrell

Although Tyrell was sold. I don't know if they were bust when they were taken over by BAR.

Andrea Montermini drove 1994-1996 for Simtek, Pacific, Forti and was selected for Mastercard Lola as test driver. All of those teams went bust.

The two cars below are special and "legendary" for 2 reasons other than winning races and championships.
What are these two specific reasons?

Something to do with a crash into the spectators at Le Mans in 1955 perhaps?

I think those are the 300 SLR that won the Mille Miglia.

It was front-mid engined (where the engine block is squarely behind the front axles), to give more neutral front/rear weight distribution.
It was a spaceframe design.
The car had an air brake and drum brackes.
The ultra light body was made from Magnesium.

The only infammous thing I can find is the 1955 Le Mans crash.

I believe the 300SLR and the W196 "Type Monza" to be two different vehicles? The cars in the picture look to be single-seaters and that photo looks like Reims 1954...?

Maybe they were the only F1's with enclosed wheels?
