So ...it seems the pendulum is now going towards Schumacher..Rosberg with bad pitstops -AGAIN a wheel fixation problem-
the team is unfortunatelly not ready for the big one yet.
Could it be Schumacher is using the contract negotiations in his favour to pressureize MGP...I have some feeling there..

No matter what pendulum they have and where it is going ATM, the car is slow and getting slower without any sign of better tyre uasge.

I think they did not expect much in the dry ...so Schumachers finish position was what is the cars speed on high speed tracks (high speed cornering)

Me too. I was only hoping for rain, as in a dry-race there wasn't much hope.

I expect Merc to be quite strong in Hungary.

Sigh, the rain should have come 2 hours earlier, so that Schumi could have finished in the podium at the very least.

@marcush
You are absolutely correct. So, what is the reason for the inherent weakness of Mercedes W03 in high speed cornering? Is it due to lack of high speed downforce, as a result of inferior aero configuration?

You just have to accept that on high speed circuit with dry conditions and wet setup, the W03 worths no more than it. Schumacher was brillant yesterday and I think today he did everything he could, but seing Rosberg unable to beat Bruno Senna and losing to the Torro Rosso at the end tell you the story.

Nevertheless it's a very strange championship and I'm sure they will be better both in Hockenheim and Hungary. I'm desperate to see Michael winning again.

If they put all their efforts on understanding the tyres and they learn nothing about it that means they are an incompetent team. Nothing more to add.

I think Hungary is the best chance for Michael. Based on characteristics, it's basically Monaco without the walls.

Hungary is not really Monaco , Monco is a crowned public road when hungary is a purpose build racetrack not much in common there apart from downforce levels.

And this shows how dump the Team at Brackley is.
Seriously, sacrifice high speed corners for low and mid speed corners is more than dump, why not building a car that can be fast in all three of them? I mean Ferrari can do it, RBR can do it, Lotus can do it. At the begin of the season, McLaren could do it aswell. But our mighty AMG's can't and then they tell us fans, how good and hard they are working bringing new updates, understand the tyres.
Its so laughable, that's not normal. There must be something wrong in the higher Positions the last few years.

With all that xpensive high-position brainpower brought to the team over the past year, a statement like that from Ross Brawn is odd indeed, I have a funny feeling that someone has already pulled the plug on developments?

could it be they have not yet found the balance? I don´t think you throw away performance=strike a compromise if you don´t have to..
Maybe their lack of downforce in recent years is more than telling....

Could it possibly be a reflexion of conflicting agendas between the three kings?

You mean every one of them has one idea how to improve the car and instead of agreeing on the best solution or a combination of it, they don't bring any updates at all because they can't agree?

Hm... Its Merc, so its possible :(

^ LoL! You guys are gonna give JET fits again.

Trying real hard to look for positives in this race for the team... At least both cars made it to the checkered flag. Michael squeezed the utmost he could from the car as much as the setup & tyres would allow. All six cars in front of him were simply way too fast. Schu may have been faster than the two MP4-27s, but that's more a consequence of McLaren dropping the ball. In a way, Maldonado did Merc a favor by taking himself & Perez out of the battle for top positions. Not sure what was up with Nico, but clearly getting beaten by the STRs, HUL, KOB, a struggling BUT, and SEN must've been a terribly humbling & frustrating experience.

The weather god (or goddess) was like a flirty tease that gave Merc a glimpse/taste on Saturday of what could've been (MSC challenging for the win), yet suddenly turned fickle on Sunday and dropped them like a hot potato.

The lack of dry running during the FPs along with betting all-in on a wet setup probably hurt Merc a bit more that the other teams. Still, it was plain to see from the way the drivers & team were praying for rain, the W03 just wasn't going to be capable of delivering great results from a dry race in Silverstone. At the rate things are going, Merc is going to need Sauber to keep having messy races and Maldonado to keep taking himself & other teams' contenders out of the fight just to hang onto 5th(!) in the WDC... Yep, that's right -- 5th(!) and not 4th (their finishing rank for the past 2 years) nor 3rd (which must be their minimum target for this season). *sigh* #-o

Here's hoping & praying for a strong upturn in form and much better fortunes for the team in Hockenheim. [-o<
