Wow. Nowadays even when they're finishing races, they're not very competitive. I thought they turned a corner with China, but I guess that was perfect conditions, opponents hitting traffic, a package that suits China, and a driver that likes the circuit all conspiring together for a good result.

You mean every one of them has one idea how to improve the car and instead of agreeing on the best solution or a combination of it, they don't bring any updates at all because they can't agree?

Hm... Its Merc, so its possible :(
Something like that has crossed my mind.

Mercedes? I thought it was Tyrrell-BAR-Honda-Brawn-MGP-AMG, just with a somewhat confusing management structure?

Coming back anytime soon JET?

What's Mercedes' development infrastructure like? I ask because the Brawn/Schumacher combination was so good at Ferrari due to the fact that they could test endlessly. That's not possible anymore. And by all accounts, Schumacher can't use a simulator for very long without getting sick. So, that leaves Nico Rosberg to carry a lot of the load, which, incidentally, could explain his relative success earlier this season.

Is there even documented proof of Shumacher's inability to run in the simulator for a prolonged time without getting "sick"? I've heard this so many times now yet I still find it unbelievable.

I read a quote from Ross Brawn quite a while ago where he mentioned Schumacher's motion sickness. I'll see if I can find something.

EDIT: That was easy. Michael Schumacher suffers from motion sickness

About MSC-Motion sickness, Mercedes has build a new simulator, which should avoid his motion sickness.

Indeed, China is what I consider a lucky win. The track temperature was just right, the car set up was ideal for the track conditions on the day, whereas everyone else went for a more compromised set up. It was a bit lilke throwing the dice in a game of monopoly and throwing two double sixes followed by a 6-5. Everything came together just right without having to go to jail

The W03 lacks aerodynamic grip relative to the Ferrari and Red Bull. Heck even the Sauber has more aero induced grip.
Hence they prayed for a wet race. The 2% they lack in aero is less handicapping at lower speeds and their mechanicla grip gives them an advantage. I have no doubt Schumacher would have been in 3rd or higher had it rained. Darn English weather

And I wonder... what of the next tracks will suit the Mercedes AMG F1 car?

Anyone without too many corners or a need for tyre-changes perhaps?

Ok I'll bite.

But I'm going to take another sabbatical afterwards.

So over the last 4 pages the tone hasn't changed, yet all of you forget 1 glaring ommission.
Where was McLaren? If silverstone is so important as a measure of car performance, then the W03 is quicker than the MP4-27.
Good job merc went it alone eh? Or was Schumacher overtaking Hamilton a figment of my imagination...oh wait it was all Schumacher right?

Furthermore I have long said the aero department needs shaking up at brackley, hence why Bigois is no longer employed.
I'm dissapointed in Mercedes, but it's not irretrievable. Stop/start tracks like Hungary will see them come good at specific venues. Maybe when the W03 was on the drawing board they settled for this with Bigois in charge...
No point in posting any further as I'm sick to the teeth of some the rhetoric being used.
More could have been done.

raikkonen is supposed to suffer motion sickness in the simulators as well.

theres been pc games where some people have felt dizzy or sick when playing them even for short periods of times as well so it must be down to how the graphics engine works or the method or method used to display them

yeah i agree that whatever aerodynamically problem w03 maybe facing; as this car was already worked by bigois, hence we are seeing this problem now. since he is no longer in the team, think he is no longer part of w04 project. w03 is still a good car but maybe they are not good enough with mclaren lotus ferrari but they have definitely going towards right direction, and with costa willis on board i firmly believe w04 and next year will be much better.

apparently whatever flaws this car has is worked in mid season last year under the leadership of loic bigois, so hence i am not surprised one bit that team is still suffering now.

should this problem still exist in w04, there should be serious investigation otherwise i think for a moment mercedes will have to do best with what they have got. i think they can still improve with updates for next race and following races.

One of these days this team must run out of xcuses and scapegoats, now it's Bigois, took them long enough to find that out?
