haven't we had enough of this ?
hamilton desperate ?

he is the star of F1
although the McLaren isn't top it is within striking distance and he knows it is the best team for developing a car [ look at last year , a nail to begin , race winning at seasons end ] ; it was designed for him , not for button
despite all that has happened he isn't a race victory behind

he must be having a ball !
to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be

Desperate \Des"per*ate\, a. [L. desperatus, p. p. of desperare. See Despair, and cf. Desperado.]

1. Without hope; given to despair; hopeless. [Obs.]

[1913 Webster]

I am desperate of obtaining her. --Shak. [1913 Webster]

2. Beyond hope; causing despair; extremely perilous; irretrievable; past cure, or, at least, extremely dangerous; as, a desperate disease; desperate fortune. [1913 Webster]

3. Proceeding from, or suggested by, despair; without regard to danger or safety; reckless; furious; as, a desperate effort. "Desperate expedients." --Macaulay. [1913 Webster]

4. Extreme, in a bad sense; outrageous; -- used to mark the extreme predominance of a bad quality. [1913 Webster]

A desperate offendress against nature. --Shak. [1913 Webster]

The most desperate of reprobates. --Macaulay.

Syn: Hopeless; despairing; desponding; rash; headlong; precipitate; irretrievable; irrecoverable; forlorn; mad; furious; frantic. [1913 Webster]

Yes, he just wants a handle on whats going on with his engineers and thats about it. 11 points is not as far as people would like to think. And knowing that it took 2 wins to make that small of gap is telling that Lewis is driving very consistently. 11 points can be made up in 1 race, that is how close the standings are. one driver only needs to win and the other come 4rth which is not a unlikely situation. Not that Lewis wants that becuase he wants as much points for the team as well. Maybe he rather his teammate stay close to him while he wins, and chip away at the points then slowly move away with the championship.

Is Hamilton desperate or what? Yes I do think he's desperate, since his girlfriend is busy working in Los Angeles, Ca, on Dancing with the stars. And Hamilton is on the other side of the world for weeks at a time.

Assuming he's a one woman man of course.

This song applies I think, and since the thread is a big bowl of opinions, it's a good read.

Great song

Dan Bern - Tiger Woods

I got big balls
Big ole balls
Big as grapefruits
Big as pumpkins
Yes sir, yes sir
And on my really good days
They swell to the size of small dogs
My balls are as big as small dogs

Well, it ain't braggin' if it's true
Yes sir, yes sir
It ain't braggin' if it's true
Mohammed Ali said that
Back when he was a young man
Back when he was Casius Clay
Before he fought too many fights
And left his brain inside the ring

Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods
Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods

I got a friend whose goal in life
Was to one day go down on Madonna
That's all he wanted
That was all
To one day go down on Madonna
And when my friend was thirty-four
He got his wish in Rome one night
He got to go down on Madonna
In Rome one night in some hotel
And ever since he's been depressed
'Cause life is --- from here on in
And all our friends just shake their heads
And say, "Too soon, too soon, too soon,
He went down on Madonna too soon
Too young, too young, too soon, too soon"

And it ain't braggin' if it's true
Yes sir, yes sir
It ain't braggin' if it's true
Mohammed Ali said that
Back when he was Casius Clay
Before he fought too many fights
And left his brain inside the ring

Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods
Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods

If certain girls don't look at you
It means that they like you a lot
If other girls don't look at you
It just means they're ignoring you
How can you know, how can you know?
Which is which, who's doing what?
I guess that you can ask 'em
Which one are you baby?
Do you like me or are you ignoring me?
Do you like me or are you ignoring me?
Do you like me or are you ignoring me?
And all you need to do that
Is one good pair of big balls
Balls as big as grapefruits
Balls as big as pumpkins
Balls as big as mine

But even though my balls are big
Sometimes i wish they were bigger
Even bigger
Big as the wheels on tractors
Big as the golden arches
Big as the Golden Gate Bridge
Big as the state of Kansas
Big as Mars and Jupiter
Big as the swing in Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods

That song and video was great and all, but what bugged me was that the Madonna and Rome part had footage of Venice. That killed it for me.

And for some reason I thought it would be rap/hiphop but it turned out to be some sort of white people music. Sorry, I don't know how to categorize it.

I saw Dan Bern at the Vancouver Folk Festival that I was dragged to by an ex GF. I was very glad she did drag me after the fact, as it changed my whole image of Folk Music.

The definition I walked away with, is Folk Music is any music that tells a story.

it is a great song, it cam pump me up pretty quick and easy for just about anything.

Alonso is not jumping to conclusions like some have about Jenson beating Hamilton. 4 races i s too early to bring out the champagne.
Hamilton's "desperation" does not go unnoticed then. I guess Alonso knows what most of us do, when it comes to tittle fights and the first races.
Q. You said in Australia that you were not worried about the result because the drivers ahead of you were not your main championship rivals. Now that Button has won two races, do you believe he's a real contender?

FA: I always respect all my rivals. Even so, I believe there are rivals you have to have more under control and others you can give a certain margin to. I've always said that Hamilton, Vettel or Michael, Felipe are very good drivers who can fight for the title.

Button didn't win the title by chance last year, it was because he deserved it. And now he's leading the championship on his own merit because he has done better than us, so we have to improve. All rivals are respectable, but to me there are two or three I'll keep a closer look on.
I think Hamilton is keeping his eye on Alonso as well. He's not underestimating Button of course, but he's not sweating him.

Nice post Ringo!
I think the drivers respect each other. It's just when the press decides to put a spin on every little comment. I'm surprised this article wasn't followed by one that said:
"Alonso disrespects Kubinski"
[-X

I'm editing because I just ran across this:
http://paddocktalk.com/news/html/story-134137.html
During an event for Spanish team sponsor Santander on Monday, it was announced that Fernando Alonso's thumbs have been insured.

The bank said the Ferrari driver's life as well as his thumbs - presumably to safeguard his ability to confidently greet his fans at grands prix with positivity - have been insured to the tune of 10 million euros.

I wonder If "The Boss" has cetain attachments insured? :D

Could Hamilton bounce back as early as the spanish GP and go on to win the world championship?
