Mclaren Mercedes MP4-25

Since when did a Sauber F1 car have silver livery?

It's not silver, it's more a dark graphite, which depending on the light and exposure, can sometimes appear silver.

From the C29 thread:

Where as well as a vague silvery tone, you can see the red stripe, the white body and the f-duct on top of the sidepod.

I thought maybe it was to do with its shape protruding from the car, only for the previous incarnation in testing.

I was watching the free practice yesterday morning and according to a McLaren engineer the "F Duct" is not its name but he wouldn't divulge what its real name is.

It's called the f-duct 'cos it protrudes just next to the vodafone f on the nose ... in the same way that the mystery panel on the sharkfin, just above the Mobil M, where we suspect the fluidic switch is, is called the M-panel.

Whatever it's real name within McLaren is, they aren't saying, and I bet it's not as cool as f-duct, which can also stand for flusidic, so we will all continue to call it f-duct I think.

Everyone was talking about the F-ing Duct on the McLaren in Bahrain - not really but it is a nice story.
The Fluidic duct actually.

I heard McLaren call it the SH duct... meaning $hit h0t?! I do not know why Macca are being all "secretiv" about its bloody name! Cat is out the bag boys... although I find the fact that good old Pedro De La Rosa joining Sauber has nothing to do with the fact that they appear to have designed the first copy... because lets remember Pedro would never ever in any way get involved with other teams technical information... unless it is from Nigel Stephney or Mike Cough'what ever his name was.

On another note; I seriously think now that Macca have got rid of Merc they appear to be abit more "risky"...

Finally; what did I miss? Macca were some what 0.5secs off the pace in Bahrain; yet they pitch up at Melbourne with free practice showing them on Red Bull Pace!?! If it was Barcelona I could understand, Macca always seem to be strong there... but Melbourne has never really been a Macca track.

Can anyone maybe demonstrate where they got this performace from dispite closing that black hole they call a diffuser up.

Ride height adjuster maybe ? Can they incorporate one into the design on such short notice ?

No ride height adjuster yet. Thats still in the pipeline. They brought 6 mods that brought 0.3 and hoping for another 0.3 in China.

Fingers crossed. Source: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82726
