Lando played catch-up last year. Max will play catch-up this year once those upgrades filter through for the RB21.
McLaren seem very quiet on the upgrade front. Redbull has more wind tunnel time, and seems to be fixing their issues.
The funny thing is that even with their issues the car can beat the McLaren on merit which we have seen in Suzuka, and what would have been in Jeddah if it weren't for the 5s penalty.
Max is definitely more symbiotic with his car and team than Lando is, and will maximize more the Q3 sessions. He's more hooked in, and doesn't have any confidence issues with the feedback from the car which fits him like a glove.
Lando is more sensitive this year. Oscar less so, but Oscar clearly has weaker race pace and tyre management than Lando. Once Max keeps the gap within 40 points halfway through, he can retain his title.
Yep. The Red Bull is magic in high speed corners but loses enough everywhere else to be behind if not equal with McLaren. Max is straight up punishing anyone who makes a single mistake, but I can see this title being almost if not as challenging to win as 2021.

Several weather stations, local and worldwide who give hour to hour predictions are saying:

3 PM dry, 4 PM (starttime) light rain, 5 PM severe rain and thunderstorms, 6 PM severe rain and thunderstorms.

Sainz is probably the worst driver on moist/wet tracks. Every time there are difficult conditions, he is in the walls.

I'm glad the rain is in the AM. Track should be very dry for the race.

Could well be mayhem for or during the race .. Miami showers can be really fierce (but often rather short).

They should honestly consider an early start because looking at the weather radar there's no way we are waiting it out once it begins.

Its too early to consider the weather radar. It changes very quickly. Just 2 hours before the sprint, the radar said there was supposed to be rain at the end. By the end, everyone was switching to slicks...
It doesn't turn.

I think there is some level of delusion using the second driver as some kind of reference. It's like using Lance Stroll to gauge the Aston Martin. The red bull car is a front runner. Any astute fan can see that with their two eyes watching how planted the car is, and how much it has improved over the bumps. I would even say, it was not even on the ragged edge in trying to go faster. Well composed. And all those purple sectors over this weekend and previous weekends says a lot.
It is a better car than the Mercedes overall and it can challenge the McLarens. Not sure how fans think a driver can make a car look planted, or have high a clear speed cornering advantage.
Max is driving how the car wants to be driven. Doesn't mean there isn't speed in it but he has to put everything he has in it and then some to get a front row start/pole and even then it's extremely marginal to Mclaren's who whenever Max has gotten pole this year they tend to have made mistakes throughout the lap.

If you watch the onboards of the car it doesn't behave how a race car should. It's desperately understeering. That costs time.

A driver can absolutely make the difference.

I'm not dumb enough to think that Tsunoda is an A tier driver, either. But to write this off as a ''the Red Bull is a front running car'' is cheap.
I guess Andrea Stella is trollinh and cheap too.

True, but sun sets at 19:53 today, so there's not that much leeway time wise. On top of that, risk increases going later.
Dunno .. hope not but it might be drama, cuz when it rains it really pours.

Have you actually looked at the weather radar? We're not talking about a local shower here, the entire eastern part of Florida is getting rained on late this afternoon, heavy rain. I fear that this race will be interrupted or not happen at all if we wait until 4 pm local time.
