No. Neither Williams has the pace to fight Merc. They had a great start, but it was clear Merc would leapfrog them at the pitstops.

They gave Bottas the green light, but did not tell Massa to move over. Fair and square. If Bottas really was faster, he should have made the move.

I think the right strategy was to tell Bottas to leave 2 second gap to Massa so that the undercut would not work.

I hadn't even thought of that. Good call.

True. Why didn't Ham pass Bottas? No team orders there and faster car. They did it for the same reason as Merc, pass was unlikely and problems costly, like collision, running off, puncture etc.

There was some chance to cause Merc problems but they weighed it against costs, Massa had slow pitstop too, Hamilton fans might like Williams' behaviour better now that Rosberg is done with some plan B BS  .

I agree, yet I am happy for Williams, this would be a great result if they can stick to it ......

Yeah, although I don't see how rain is gonna take HAM out of the lead. Only a screwed up pit stop will.

if this was a safety car we´d be still waiting for lapped cars to overtake the leaders. Really good system.

It won't rain for long - we're near Brackley and it's almost stopped here already.
