I think every team uses a new PU on Friday already to do all the necessary checks.

I was under the impression that they always use an 'old' engine to prevent milage on the engines used in qualy and the race

But not on the weekend you run the new PU for the first time.

The document is automatically generated after drivers cross the pit exit line with the new PU elements.

Looks like Mclaren and Renault will overtake Gasly this weekend. It mostly down to engine, Horner must be tossing and turning seeing how good the Renault cars are.
Yes, looks that Mclaren and Renault are a lot better, expecting a podium for Renault and double DNF for RBR

Seriously, what is in your mind?? Stop again with delusional nonsense posts, now with a friday we can see all, even if Max did only 0.018 better on Softs than on Mediums due to the incident with Ham and then another mistake I think. But hey, previous that he set fastest 1st sector. But yeah, Renault have the edge now over all other manufacturers and were sandbagging until now #-o

Spec 3 has not delivered simple as. Albon was quicker than Danny.
Im up for a wager that either Riccardo or Norris will outqualify Gasly.
You're up to be delusional once again. Albon was quicker than Danny?? Did you notice that Kvyat has a penalty and will start last? So why lose time with qualifying runs?? You should think a little before posting bs

Looking at the long run pace, it doesn't seem too bad, still a few tenths off Mercedes.

According to Marko, Honda has not unleashed the full power of spec3. They will do that tomorrow.

It's logical. They need to check everything first, and do a proper mapping for the new PU. Then if everything is fine, starting to free more power. We will see tomorrow. But that upgrade is expected to improve the race pace more than the qualifying pace

Watched Max on F1TV. The engine was in some of the lowest modes. I think they were testing the fuel consumption. Last two laps Max`s race engineer told him that he can use as many fuel as he wants. Before pitting they switched to max power and tested turns 4-8 and 9-11 on full throttle.
