I'd say the ADR, or Accident Data Recovery, device. It records speed and g-force, kinda like an airplane's black box. :)

Improved pedalbox protection is my guess given David Purley's injuries.

Either that or better defined gravel traps. there were quite a few safety improvements in 77 & 78.

Nope. It was fitted on the car next to your picture Ced381. Which was the next years model of the LEC
