If I´m not mistaken I have still to pick up the bat from last week for answering correctly.
so I come up with a bit of folklore :

A team dominated the overseas races only to suddenly fall from grace because of a fag pack or better the loss of it.The story was told by the owner of the team.

What had happened? Team ,Car and reason for loss of performance please

It was the 1979 Ligier JS11, Gerard Ducarouge scribbled down the settings from Argentina and Brazil, which Jaques Lafitte won, on a pack of Gitanes but lost it on the flight back somehow. They never returned to form after that.

As you said marcush, great folklore!

I know I'm terrible with protocol, but marcush Q was a giveaway for an old fart such as I, besides I have a monster Q which none of you bums will never figure out!

The 1972 Tecno F1 engine was different to the other F1 engines in a special way, which was that?

Yes, I know it was a stresses member, when the Ferrari was not, but it was something else that made it pretty curious.

How did I know that it was just the right question for you...I could not stop laughing back then ...when Lafitte told the press we don´t know why it does not work anymore but hey we did not know why it worked so well in the first place...I bet the boffins today are shaking from head to toe when things go wrong and answers are necessary and really they don´t have a clue .As this was a special giveaway for EXP the quizchain is back in order now methinks..

Are you, perhaps, alluding to its boxer configuration?

Hmm, it was a very long stroke and narrow bore as I recall.

I think what made that engine peculiar was direct fuel injection.

Hint: Bore was pretty much the same as Ferrari's.
