Nobody said anyone else could go faster. Hamilton sure could put a big challenge to Vettel.vall wrote:Vettel put a monster lap, no? I doubt anyone will be able to derail Vettel from winning again. And Hamilton getting a 3rd place from 7th on the grid ? Get real...beelsebob wrote: 1. Button

Bear in mind that he's sat behind one ferrari that's been no where near his pace, one merc that's been no where near his pace, and an RBR that's got terrible race pace. The only real fly in the ointment from where he's sitting is Alonso.Shrieker wrote:I doubt anyone will be able to derail Vettel from winning again. Do not dismiss Alonso just yet. His time was slower than his FP3 time. His car was full of fuel, and just like Hamilton he was badly affected by the red flag.beelsebob wrote:Because he was on cold tyres. We've seen that Hamilton was consistently 2-3 tenths quicker than button all weekend, if he hadn't got screwed over, he probably would have been within 0.05 of Vettel or ahead of him. Not only that, but we know the RBR's race pace is much worse than it's qually pace. My prediction for tomorrow:vall wrote:why he was some much slower? He was driving first in the clean air? I doubt he could touch Vettel, who seems not to push too hard in Q1&2...myurr wrote:Oh well, glad Perez seems to be okay but we were robbed of a proper shootout for pole. Hamilton a second slower than we know he can go, should have been able to at least take the fight to Vettel.

2. Vettel

Ofc, this relies on a great start and a great pit stop or two from the boss.
The guys in front of him (Massa,Alonso and Weber) always give trouble to Lewis when he's faster than them and tries to overtake. Especially Massa the master rear gunner won't blink in squeezing Hamilton first chance he gets. Just look at Bahrain and Monza last season...beelsebob wrote:Bear in mind that he's sat behind one ferrari that's been no where near his pace, one merc that's been no where near his pace, and an RBR that's got terrible race pace. Webber's race pace isn't exactly setting the world alight my friend.. So he has a point there.Gerhard Berger wrote:Are you on crack?beelsebob wrote:Bear in mind that he's sat behind one ferrari that's been no where near his pace, one merc that's been no where near his pace, and an RBR that's got terrible race pace. No, actually, you're right – it was only a second a lap faster in qualifying, and a second a lap slower in the race in spain. Wait, no, that backs up my point, not yoursGerhard Berger wrote:Are you on crack?beelsebob wrote:Bear in mind that he's sat behind one ferrari that's been no where near his pace, one merc that's been no where near his pace, and an RBR that's got terrible race pace. They were errors by Hamilton (just like Turkey this year), not Massa squeezing him.Shrieker wrote:The guys in front of him (Massa,Alonso and Weber) always give trouble to Lewis when he's faster than them and tries to overtake. I think there's a difference between not setting the world alight and being terrible. Webber's race pace has not been terrible. In Spain he was just as fast as the lead guys once he cleared Alonso. In Turkey he was the around equal 2nd fastest with Alonso in terms of race pace. China is slightly skewed because of the tyres, but he seemed quick enough. Hardly terrible stuff is it?Shrieker wrote:Webber's race pace isn't exactly setting the world alight my friend.. So he has a point there.Gerhard Berger wrote:Are you on crack?beelsebob wrote:[
