Alonso is the unluckiest man I have ever seen. Finally near-guaranteed points on the least PU intensive track on the calendar. PU somehow breaks.

Hamilton is extremely slow and I can't work out why. This isn't helping Leclerc. He's dropped out of Norris pit window.
Going through traffic he lost 5 seconds+ to Verstappen
Verstappen exited the pits just 2 seconds ahead. Gap is 16 seconds. Hamilton's tires are similar age to NOR/LEC/PIA.
It doesn't turn.

So he 14 seconds through that then. I noticed the gap started then but who knows

Hamilton has had free air for a while. He's lapping half a second or more slower than those ahead. They lost the pit stop window of Norris. This wasn't traffic.

Albon now takes over Sainz' job to block the others. What a joke

Should this Monaco thread actually be in the the Formula One races thread, or do we have a category for exhibitional farce?

Cars are too big, end of story.

The most likely thing to happen is that if a team gets 1-2 in quali. they will take turns backing the entire field up so they van pit and still come out p1, then swap positions and let the other teammate build a 20 second gap, then pit and come out in p1. Repeat that two times and you get a 1-2 finish.
That would theoretically be even easier in one pitstop race, yet it was never attempted. So why would it be considered a viable strategy now?
Williams is pulling this strategy and it looks to be working perfectly. Just not from the front.

Racing Bulls did the same.

I'm thinking now Ferrari are going to wait and see if Hamilton can luck into a safety car due to him have a huge gap to hadjar

Verstappen could back Norris up into Leclerc and help Lec win. Could still be a party here.
