Maybe stuff is noticed but, because the stewards try (at least) try to be impartial they don't look at things in the way that fans do. Fans will always see things that affect "their" driver / team as "obviously requiring punishment".

That is the way with racing...

I think the real infringements are Petrov for weaving again. Massa for moving twice again; the safety car thing with Button.
Hamilton is clear of all charges, he and Vettel were released the same exact time; no fault of the lolipop man for trying to react quicker than redbull's . Hamilton waited beside him until he was released. Vettel gave no room; so I think that one will be overlooked.
It's a safety issue. Don't let your bias cloud your judgement. Safety issues shouldn't be ignored. You're wrong, he should be handed a heavy penalty for this race and the next. Doesn't matter who was released when, he almost spun trying to get out ahead of Vettel (who was ahead to begin with0 and then he stayed next to him crossing over the line into other pit stalls. That's blatantly illegal, Vettel had no obligation to give a driver room that wasn't ahead of him to begin with and he should have backed off and gotten back over the line in accordance with regulations.

No, Alonso should face the exact same consequences as Hamilton for their overtaking of Massa and Vettel, respectively, in the pitalane entry. Alonso got his drive through penalty for jumping the gun; fine. I recognize all of that. But Hamilton made more 3-4 mistakes that deserved more attention from the officials.

Why in the world should've Vettel given room to Hamilton in the pitlane?? Vettel had the right of way as he was in the proper driving zone while Hamilton was in the working zone. If anything, Hamilton had to yield to Vettel in that instance as to get himself out of the area where he was endangering the pitstop crews.

Does no one think that Button causing the almost pile up was a bit dodgy?

If he gets away with it will every driver in the front after a SC not try the same?
That the problem they have. If they do something, it'll be deemed as heavy-handed as in most cases, no harm was caused. However if they don't they'll be seen to be too inconsistent.
Double edged sword.

I can see a grid-penalty going to Lewis for overtaking on entry into the pit-lane, however if he does, Alonso will have to take one as well.

Terrible race for Force India. Cars drivers and tactics a complete mess.No doubt the excuses will come think and fast but the team performed badly in my mind..

Thank you =D>

It seems some people have a little note pad like a referee ready to record ways to give Hamilton a penalty for every little thing.

He did nothing wrong, in the pit lane, Vettel was the cause of all the Hamilton problems.
I finaly get to see Hamilton kick vettels ass in the wet to show him who is THE BOSS
and Vettel starts playing dirty.
Hamilton is the best driver on the grid, no questions. He destroyed Shumacher twice, destroyed Vettel and all other challengers.
Good race from him to finish right behind his team mate who had 2 stops less. Great drive by Button, again his experience and confidence catalysing his race to easy street, but well played.
For Sure!!

You're completely wrong. Maybe you haven't been watching F1 for long, but there is no impartiality in the Formula 1 stewards at all. They consistently don't levy penalties in a timely manner or in accordance with common sense or written regulations. They are not objective in any way, that's proven by Alonso's drive through three laps after it happened and Lewis not getting a consideration for penalty until after the race. If that doesn't tell you they are complete morons, I don't know how else to say it.

There were no incidents today that couldn't be solved with proper use of common sense and using already written regulations. You seem to miss those facts.

IT IS a safety issue...However, it was seen in the past wothout penalizing. Also if Vettel wasnt acting like a idiot they could both have been easily on the safe side,(still debatable though but much safer for your concerns)...So dont put the blame on one driver over an incident that involves two of them...

Plain man on man racing. Meanwhile the armchair pedants have their notebooks out.

Oh, and nice to see you back in action Ray. I'd forgotten how OUTRAGED you get at any sort of racing incident.

How is he an idiot? He was ahead of Lewis coming out of the stops and Lewis was clearly in the working lane. That's cut and dry to anyone with eyes and common sense.

Errr ditto - you're sounding quite biased. There was nothing wrong with the release he just got more wheelspin, and more again when he avoided hitting Vettel.

Arguably Hamilton should then have dropped behind, but equally Vettel should not have squeezed him (you can see him look in his mirror and then move to the right). Both were safety issues, and if one is to be penalised so should the other.

No one had the right of way, both cars were released at the same exact time by human reaction time standards. What's more Hamilton was not racing Vettel at all to the line.
He let Vettel go ahead coming out of the pits.
If you want to see cheating watch Alonso at the start. And even then i wont even let that bother me, we had a great race and we can see that Alonso Hamilton Shumacher are in a class by themselves when it comes to innovation.

You critcs really mess the thread up.
I think there needs to be a separate thread for Hamilton penalties.

We had such a great race, a lot of beat downs and smack downs laid, and all we chose to talk about are non existent penalties?
For Sure!!

He pushed him towards the other pit boxes - that is clearly a safety issue!

The real problem they have is they don't rule consistently. Heavy-handedness is moot if they apply the same penalty for the same infringement across the board. That's a lame excuse. There is no time like the present to drop the hammer and keep it there. You have to start somewhere and here is a great time. Any objections like 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' are pointless and without merit. Do it or don't, but lets start enforcing rules already in place NOW.

You don't have objective reasoning skills either I see. If Lewis had backed off, since he was already in the working lane when he left his damn pit box, none of this would have happened. Lewis is at fault. Full stop. You people can twist reality all you want.
