Even without the PU issue, Aston Martin was outsmarted by Racing Bulls and Ferrari on strategy. Even with Stroll, their approach felt more reactive, simply responding to what others were doing rather than taking risks. They could’ve tried something different with Stroll, nothing to lose if you are not in the top 10.

I also found it odd that the race engineer didn’t explain the reason for the pit stop to the driver. Other teams usually mention things like e.g. : "you’ll lose track position"; with Alonso, it's been a couple of races now where the reason is left unexplained, leaving the frustration.
Yeah, they're clearly reactive to the first person around them. Alonso got frustrated because when Hadjar pitted he could've then pushed in clear air but they brought him out right behind Hadjar by pitting him immediately after and then Hamilton could overcut them both. This is the second time in two races where their strategy team has shown no understanding of relative race pace.
Hadjar pitted cause Lawson, who was behind Hamilton on lap 14, was backing the pack up behind him. If Alonso pitted before Hadjar, he would come out behind Lawson. So Alonso was F*cked cause Hadjar had a wing man and he didn't.

I don't think they made a Strategy error. I Think Hamilton passed Alonso cause he did 1:15.8 and a 1:14.8 on the 2 laps before he pitted and Alonso couldn't do that. So basically Hamilton had a faster car...
I thought most cars were going much slower than they were capable of because Bearman was setting fastest laps at one point. So maybe it was possible for Alonso to push after Hadjar pitted because he was then in clear air, just like Hamilton did after Alonso and Hadjar pitted. Its possible Alonso couldnt go any faster and then it wouldnt matter. But I think he was frustrated because when they asked him to push to cover Hamilton, he was once again behind Hadjar and obviously had to follow him around.

Alonso also confirmed in the press conference that it will take about two years to fix the simulator.

"All simulators have some correlation issues to the real car. The car on track in real life is dynamic and changes corner to corner, session to session. So when you try to replicate that on a simulator, it is very different. I think it will take less than two years to fix our simulator. Rest assured, as drivers we mention it a couple of times a week!"

Less than two is not confirming two.

Yeah pretty much every team has had issues with simulator correlation this generation. McLaren found the issue early and fixed it

Less than two is not confirming two.
I said about two. If it was closer to one, Alonso would have stated that.

Did AM had different nose configurations before?

They did ask Fernando to "use all the tire up", to which he responded with a 7 tenth faster time to 15.593 but on the next lap he complained of graining, was .6 slower in the first 2 sectors and they pitted him in S3.

Hadjar was trying to go fast too, he wanted to stay in front of Hamilton too.

Looks similar to japan/imola specs from 2024. Also wasn’t it tested during pre season This year
