Alonso 7th, 5th best car in fp2 at least. Best of the rest.

The one silver lining to correcting the DIL simulations is how much of a drastic increase in performance of AI and machine learning algorithms and applications in recent years. It's a crazy amount of exponential growth in those areas and the ability for different algorithms to ingest data and running hundreds of thousands or millions of simulations.

That "2 year" timeframe mentioned by Newey and Alonso could potentially be cut down to a matter of months.

This of course is assuming Stroll has invested in not only the infrastructure needed to process that data and run it BUT more importantly, hiring the right people to build and run these systems.

Do they have quality data scientists and ML Ops/AI automation engineers at AMR? Or are they going the normal F1 route and paying pennies for people to have the "privilege" to work in F1? To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what that job landscape looks like for F1 as a whole.

FP2 was very solid. The top 10 positions are very close to each other .

Considering LH had a poor FP2 and the Williams also seemed distracted, I think ALO finished 10th.

I mean, I still don't fully believe it. If Stroll had finished higher, things would have changed a bit.

We'll see tomorrow, when LH returns to this world and the Williams team shows their true colors.

So Alonso was complaining of a lack of power in FP1. The PU "problem" could also be described as the PU wick was turned down too much. He complained "I don't want to be losing 2 tenths down the straight". Let's just hope he didn't have the power turned near max for FP2, that resulted in the good results.

Past few races. Car seems pretty competitive on mediums. But on softs it struggles in qualy and it’s pace on hards in race trim is underwhelming.

Alonso similar time to max, and less than 2.5 tenths off lando, on mediums so far. They said on Sky there night me half a second between the tire compounds here. Remember it's C1, C2, C3, so the soft here is harder than the hards last couple of races.

Soft run now, alonso only 4 hundreths off max, looking promising. Track dominance chart showing the aston quicker in the tighter corners.
Hopefully alonso can fight for Q3 again.

RB as fast, Sauber only 3 tenths slower and PIA showed what is possible…
I believe it will be tough for Q3, maybe even Q2 for STR if h3 doesn’t up his game.

It seems quicker than Haas, Williams, Alpine, sauber. And alonso could beat one or both vcarbs, maybe tsunoda, Hamilton, Antonelli. We will se later.
