Anyway, statistically Aston Martin would have finished 5th in the constructors in the two previous seasons with only one driver.

Why not put Drugovich in ?
Because he didn't do any free practice in Barcelona.

Now, the Stroll problem certainly didn't appear out of nowhere. Obviously they knew about the possibility and obviously they didn't want to put Drugovich in any free practice because it's obviously not in the boss's interest for someone young to appear who is better than his son.
I don't think the team has any to do with this. Totally Lance thing.

Maybe he will like not racing and just retire? We can only hope.

It would be really cool if Drugovich raced in Barcelona. He raced 4 races on this track for F2 and he won 3 times.
But unfortunately the guy has been very unlucky since joining Aston Martin. lol

The team indicated in the statement “over the past 6 weeks…” so they were aware about for over a month about his pain. They could have anticipated it.

All the engineers (the team) must feel very sorry for Drugovich, but they are employees and they do what is best to keep their jobs.

ALO didn’t use the soft tyre from Q2 (2nd run) in Q3, not understandable for me. It only had 2 „outlaps“, as he aborted the lap very early. Perfect set for a banker lap in Q3 in my opinion.

The rumours are Stroll is actually retiring due to the wrist injury.

Can we see Drugovich actually driving? Alex Palou (due to HRC)?

Stroll will probably return to race in Montreal, which is his home race. That is probably why he will not race in Barcelona. He should have surgery today to give him time to recover for the next GP.

The reserves are Drugovich and Vandoorne, but both of them have 24h of Le Mans on the same day as the Montreal race. If necessary, maybe Bottas could be used, because of Mercedes.

I dont think this happen but could be a posible. Lance is tired of F1, everyone can see him angry about anything. I don't doubt that he will stop running and they will use that as a reason when in reality he just doesn't want to anymore but they can't say anything.

If the kid (I say this affectionately, without malice) needs wrist surgery, it means he's had a tough time in previous races, where the driver's hands were more important than the car. I think he must be in pretty bad shape to retire at Montmeló. So don't bother him too much, because without him... there probably wouldn't have been an AM team.

I also like him; he reminds me of Mike Hailwood, although the latter quickly dispelled any doubts. Lance isn't Hailwood... but... losing half a second per lap on average to ALO isn't that bad, considering he's the owner's son.

The team must have been aware of his wrist problems for a while. So I imagine they've thought about it. Although the situation surprises me, I suppose something happened to make his wrists say "enough."

I think Palou has found his own El Dorado; I don't think he's thinking about F1 anymore.

Despite all the successes of my compatriots in MotoGP (sometimes it seems to me like it's the Spanish Championship, and that worries me because of the spectacle, too often the same anthem and the same flag), the exploits and misfortunes of ALO and SAI... last week's 500 Miles were almost unbelievable. I drank a bottle of cava and was happy for a while. Watching him celebrate the victory, I don't think he'll ever abandon it. Besides, I don't think Chip Ganassi would be happy... and he has a bad temper.

Alonso was --- by the temperature drop at the end of Q3, like Leclerc.

Unfortunate.
According to the official session report, Alonso and Leclerc did their laps in similar temperatures. The f1-insights hub also records the track temperature. The bulk of the cooling (from 48C peak down to 42C) had occurred before the runs of Leclerc and Alonso. I think the real time loss comes because they effectively had to do banker laps as their final run. I think ALO is quite fast here. AMR made a good step. I don't share the pessimism of others. ALO can score points without bad luck.
