He said that he finished the front left tyre in a few laps in the start, and that's why he went to the gravel. He tried to brake but the dead tyres didn't want to.

I guess they're still lost regarding simulations. If they new the massive difference in front wing setup, their have been much better.

As usual, awesome race from Alo. I think AM is still not on par to RB, and at least in this race, to Sauber either. Hand to hand with Alpine. These points are just another trick of the grandpa.

Sauber, excellent. Hulk overtaking Hamilton with similar tyres... Priceless.

Decent result, although Alonso said in the interview the race pace was a little worse than hoped for. Still waiting for the Silverstone upgrade which hopefully can kick start this season for us

The car apparently lacks speed. And I say "apparently" because I think the tires are being given a disproportionate amount of importance; they're not making things easy for the teams, but quite the opposite. Something I dislike.

Too many changes in compounds, too much difference in their behavior. I think they're simply looking to create variable and almost unpredictable conditions so the public can enjoy a spectacle. I also think they're wrong: at the beginning of each season, there should be X types of tires, and they should be kept throughout the season. That way, the teams would have a more solid base to work from.

Yes, I know the McLs seem to care very little about this tire issue. But they seem to be the only ones in this situation.

The race was good. Compared to what we had. ALO performed its typical magic tricks... but the speed is lacking in the AM. Or the tires are driving them crazy. That's my humble opinion.
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

Some time ago I posted here in this thread that something was different in the team's preparation for the races, that Drugovich was doing simulator on Fridays before serving as reserve to the races (he's never done that before). Before I thought it was something related to Newey, but now I'm thinking it was because of these pains that Stroll is feeling. :-k

It seems like a blessing in disguise, i hope he recovers, but the problem may be related to the accident 2 seasons ago, maybe the initial surgery and recover was hurried, if the problem persists, he may hang up the boots..

So your of the opinion that whatever operation he's going to have, isn't gonna fix it?

You'd think if this was bugging him last year. He would have taken care of it in the off season? Something must have happened to have re-injure it.

More articles are now spreading the information that Stroll smashed equipment and hurled insults at team personnel, fueling talk of serious internal tensions. While the team confirmed that Stroll was “visibly angry,” they denied any link between his outburst and the injury that officially ruled him out of the race.

But cloud be the reason about how he injured himself and the team could’t anticipate it.

And I doubt that he’s not coming back, as 2026 marks a new era for AMR. He’s around for so long, he can wait 1 more year…

He never want to drive, for me, he just drive because his father wants it, and he has no choice.

Alonso was --- by the temperature drop at the end of Q3, like Leclerc.

Unfortunate.
According to the official session report, Alonso and Leclerc did their laps in similar temperatures. The f1-insights hub also records the track temperature. The bulk of the cooling (from 48C peak down to 42C) had occurred before the runs of Leclerc and Alonso. I think the real time loss comes because they effectively had to do banker laps as their final run. I think ALO is quite fast here. AMR made a good step. I don't share the pessimism of others. ALO can score points without bad luck.

I can tell you that this site is often not properly synced. If you check on F1TV live timing, which is the most reliable, you can see that Leclerc completed his lap when the track was around 44 degrees, while Hamilton completed it with around 41 degrees. Alonso started it at around 43 degrees and when he finished the lap the temp was around 42.5

I doudt that very much. I remember seeing interviews of him as kid. He was just bursting with energy over driving. His dad at tge time was busy running Hugo Boss or something.

I think he loves driving, but he a pretty introverted guy and hates the whole media aspect of F1 - hence why he always comes across as moody/not caring in interviews.

I really don't understand Lance. He could take all the time he needs to fully recover and come back later feeling 100% fit. It's not like the reserve driver is going to steal his seat, after all, he is the son of the team owner. At the end of the day, no matter how well the reserve driver does, it won't affect Lance's return to the car.

I believe he will try to race in Montreal.
