@ pit, Remeber the 2009 Mclaren was still a dog at that point. It was dog vs dog battle with Hamilton using KERS to make that overtake. It wouldn't have happened without KERS.

I still predict a lot of drivers crashing after the tunnel, especially the HRTs and the Virgin cars.

people were laughing at Alonso's 0.6s, now we have Hamilton's 1sec  Do you really believe Macca is 1sec slower than the Bulls is the race?
Well it is just a quick guess. Could as well be half a second or so, my point is, Hamilton is making the car look better then it really is(or the red bull is making Vettel look better then he really is lol)

why Perez lost it? He exit the tunnel too wide, but then it seemed to me he lost traction on the bumps? At this place, the moment you realize you go too fast, there is plenty of space to cut the chicane and not crash..... unless you first crash on the left as we have seem many do in the past. Lack of experience?

I don't really believe that. As last year, the difference between Hamilton and Button was ~0.2-0.3 sec, no? It is the same again this year, may be less. So? Conclusions?

Well he has a lot of experience there in lower series, and I think won Gp2 there last year.

I just read from an unconfirmable source that Perez has a broken ankle.

Winner for me will be Button, however, my outsider would be Schumi. I am thinking that Webber will take Vettel off in Turn 1 and give Vettel his first DNF of they year.

However, i just hope Perez is fine, have been hearing on Twitter that he is awake and talking, however complaining of leg pain. Would not be surprised if he dosnt make Canada, but there are 2 weeks from now to then.

However, i feel that what was thought of in 2006 and brought up again in 2008 that the chichane coming out of the tunnel gets a reprofile, and finally get a decent enough run off. However purists may not aggree that theres any problem, but the track is already undergone modifications in the last 10 or so years to give more run off out of the swimming pool and also the modifications to the run off at Sainte Devote has always been tinkered with to get more room. Also the man hole and bump at the entry to Mirabau could be looked at at the same time. I know that would take away some personality of the track, but i feel the personality of the event is the atmosphere arround it, not the track itself by large.

Heres the modifications id do to the exit of the tunnel:

You want the cars to drive over or through the water?

The current track is perfect to me.

Speaking about rookies, where's the love for maldonado?

The guy is doing well, and he was pre judged as unworthy before he even stepped into the car.
I think many here need to apologize to the Pastor "mal donated" maldonado.

He's carrying williams on his back now, and if i were TP i would gladly dump whingy Barichello for a Raikonen or Hukenberg in 2012.
In fact i would dump Rubens now and go for hulkenberg.

Pastor is definitely a monaco specialist. Perez was going very well, but looking on how Maldonado was wrangling the car, i'd say the team are gratefull he's got the last drop out of the car and put it in Q3 twice.
I hope he gets a point, as this track will make that easier for him.

within the existing track they just should make the chicane smaller and further down the road so that their braking point isnt on the top of the hill

He had a concussion and a sprained thigh. But nothing broken.

@ESPImperium You'd have do some land reclamation to make that chicane.

I think that moving the chicane forward is the best idea. So after the tunnel you continue straight and then a fast chicane ahead instead.

Speed would be much higher but it would minimise crashes alot i think.

Regarding Vettel vs Hamilton. Vettel put in a smoking lap it was almost perfect.
I doubt Hamilton would take Pole but i know he would be damn close. He´s been quite alot faster then Button who was also surprisingly quick here.

But i love the fact that Vettel fans instantly says Vettel is the fastest man in F1 when his car is the superior thing here. The fact that Hamilton was so close is a testament of his driving skills, not how miraculously his car has gotten over night or week.

I can´t think of any F1 camera of all tracks that is better then Tabac. My god does it showcase the sheer speed and agility of F1 cars.
