Lewis a fair bit quicker in S2 despite the tyre differences

If there's another pit stop, lap record (proper one - in the race) will go.

Well, people want the drivers to be able to push all the way on the tyres. Looks like we've got that here.

So why was the Ferrari able to sit 1.5 behind on equal tyres earlier in the race. Then the same thing with 2 compounds softer ??

Oh yeah , Merc were cruising around in the 1st half of the race.

Great drive from Lewis under pressure the whole race especially the restart.

All going Hamilton's way now. Clawed points back from Vettel and his team mate losing ground. Bottas will be paying back that third place soon.
Always find the gap then use it.

Well done, Lewis. =D>

It was seen on Friday that the softs were more than a match for the Ultras. Not sure why people are surprised. Vettel had the once chance but couldn't do it. 10/10 for the effort.

Great drive from the top 2 though. Ricciardo should change his name from Honey badger to the Weasel. Almost every time Max retires, he ends up on the podium.

Kimi should have at least got an attack on Ricciardo. But props to him for doing that move on Bottas.

Happy that the next installment is only a week away. Ferrari will be glad with the reduced gap here at Spa.

Safety car ruined this race. It would have been fun to see which cars lasted to the end with soft tires life ending.

In the end the result is what we were expecting since hungary and will probably be the same in monza.

As predicted ferrari has nothing on mercedes on the straight. Lucky hamilton.
It's the same as with Q3 - Mercedes can burn a bit more oil when they need to.
It would have been interesting to see whether the Ferrari would have had enough to pass the Mercedes up the hill with DRS, had Vettel been able to close up on Hamilton towards the end.
(I suspect Vettel was also limited by how much he was able to harvest as he seemed to be faster on one lap, then drop back on the next.)

Wonderful race, fantastic attacks all race long with masterful control and defense from Hamilton, despite the massive disadvantage at the end. The Ocon Perez thing is out of control and it's hurting Force India, they really have to put a stop to it. Looking forward to Monza already.

Half full glass: friday I thought that VET couldn't do more than 3rd place,
Half empty glass: at the end I thought that VET could pass HAM with US, but in S2 I think that turbolences created many problems to the german.

Anyway well deserved victory by HAM, he did great!

Anyone followed RoGro's race? He has the next installment of the Ferrari engine in his car. If that is turning good numbers for him, it should be good news for Ferrari for the coming races.

ALO did a great start and drove first laps in a wonderful way, Ocon and Perez are wasting too many points for FI... they should stop it!
