Funnily enough, what Schumacher said in the video applies today . I think Schumacher will carry on with Merc if he sees real promise for 2013; that is a championship contending car.

Now that I think about it: Jordan has been saying Schumacher will retire each time in the past two-three years haha. Not very credible is he?

I'm not claiming that Mestrades has a contact within the team, but why automatically dismiss him as a liar. If he is just lying, I agree that its crappy, but I see no reason to claim he just made it up.

Have you seen half his posts in this thread? He doesn't appear to have any real contact within the team .

His words hold as much weight as EJ's, until, there are words that are more 'water tight'.

Let's face it Michael will retire at the end of this season if he intended to continue make this decision public. Hamilton goes to Mercedes and Di Resta will go to McLaren.... there is no logic to that Schumacher would continue next year.

Yet, EJ was the guy claiming Merc was going to buy BrawGP and Schumacher would drive for them, when everyone else said it was a ridicilous assumption... Same thing with the Button to Mclaren switch in 2010.
I say, we wait and see. EJ says a lot of stupid things, but he has this sneeky way of getting big big news 1st, and then splattering it all over the press

I think a rather more likely version of reality is that Schumacher has intimated that having an excellent race in Singapore will be the crux of whether he will continue or not - with a win almost certainly sealing positive, and a sub-P5 performance probably meaning withdrawal. Mercedes have announced what one might imagine is a C-spec car for Singapore, so this seems the most logical point in time for a critical decision - which coincidentally is pretty much October, when MSC said he would announce.

This is the most logic one for me. Brawn has said that the WO3 will be the base to design the WO4, so if this c-especification car is competitive Michael can really hope to have a good 2013 season. If not, he will retire, this would be very sad for me as a long term fan, but specially because Michael is showing his best driving since he returned, he should continue in 2013.

About Hamilton, it would be a great surprise if he joins Mercedes for the next season, Mclaren is the best team for him, they support him and they will offer a competitive car every season. Apart from that, I can believe that Mercedes has a real intention of paying such a high amount of money, nowadays Nico and Michael have, more or less, the same salary so this would be a great change in the teams policy.

That was reported months ago ; he's either going Merc or Ferrari.
