Again 8 tenths off the pace and one Mclaren is out. Its not an acceptable performance on their 1000th GP. Something has gone wrong today cause you cant lose 1 second of peeformance from one track to the next without anyone bringing upgrades.

not concerned about the pace at all. Listening to driver radio, they have done zero push laps all day. Just wing/setting calibration.

Yes think he was already on his 4th, so unless one of the previous ones is still useable then it’s a 10 place grid penalty

This year is going downhill. A lot of reliability problems and sudden speed loss. Is it caused by the new Mercedes engine? Is the team still behind in understanding the engine compared to the factory team to the point of having problems? Could the technical rule change has hampered all Mercedes engines?

i think this is already too much for the "back to back champions".
But at least they kept same reliability as in 1966, when Bruce retired his M2B after 9 laps, so a DNF for race "1000" will only "continue the legacy".

16 batteries… they’ll have to stop developing the car as well to keep within the cost cap.

I remember launch control issues to one car each race, a lot of blown engines while the car could win if managed to finish.

Do you think all the issues are caused by the engine not cooperating that well with the battery and the other mechanical parts? The factory team doesnt have that many issues.

And whats happening with the upgrades? The team was doing so well bringing good batches for 3 straight years. In fact they were the best. What happened this time?
