Aren't there multiple instances (on video!) of Vettel touching competitors' cars with absolutely no consequences?

I feel like Mercedes would be *really* grasping at straws trying to get Verstappen involved here, so I don't think the decision being postponed until tomorrow has anything to do with this.
I have never seen VET touch another car. Only look. At least from my memory.
I remember Vettel inspecting Bottas’ car post race. He used his foot to move the Mercedes forward to check the blister in the tyre. It’s no longer in parc ferme post race is it?

I've seen Sebastian looking but never touching, normally after the race, not touching it after qualification.

I believe parc ferme ends when the flag drops to start the race.

All the stewards have to say to Mercedes is prove that Max changed the wing by his actions. If they can't prove that by 2moro then DSQ.

It's all on video too, Max checked his wing, did the same to Lewis's. Max's passed the test, Lewis's failed.
I think the burden of proof would simply be that Merc passed the test before, and failed after another competitor touched the car.

you have this as well!

34.9
One (1) scrutineer will be allocated to each car for the purpose of ensuring that no unauthorised
work is carried out whilst cars are being held under parc fermé conditions.
The team could also argue that this was not adhered to as the car was handled.

The car can be changed from FP1 to Qualy, that is why they run the checks again.

Mercedes have to prove how Max could have caused it, otherwise there is no reason to not DSQ when the car has not met the criteria.

Therefore, they need more evidence from Mercedes

parc ferme continues after the race, until the cars have undergone all the post race checks.

Why would they be held to this higher burden of proof when the basic rules of parc ferme have not been ensured by the technical delegates?

As a side note: mechanics can fix broken DRS actuators by hand, interestingly enough.

As I stated previously, it seems Mercedes has the edge on traction and exits, while Red Bull have the advantage in carrying speed through and into the corner entry.

It would have been impossible for Max to change the wing like that just by touching it for a few seconds. If that's the case it's a DSQ.

O man if they think he did something that's race ban territory!

It’s on camera. It’s ipso facto.

As I said before, these are F1 cars, they are only designed to handle loads under the conditions they would normally be subjected to, no more, no less.
