I have a road circuit worked out already and the fact that the track would only be 2 minutes from my flat has had no bearing on this what-so-ever. :-"
What's wrong with Knockhill, much better than Ingilston, with elevation changes and you would not have to travel too far.

As for Bathurst, the track looks great, runoff not so much.
The diagonal pit lane areas because there's not enough room for all teams to line up end to end, and the incredibly steep hills for two.

Don't get my wrong – I'd love it, I'm from very close to Knockhill originally.

But above all else, the track is far too small. Change it to F1 standards and it would not be Knockhill.

No, I've decided that the Scottish GP will be in Aberdeen around my own street course. Proper power circuit with big stops for overtaking. Now where's MrE's phone number.....

I'll tell you what – we can just do 1 lap. Start in Elgin, off to inverness, over the A9, back up to aberdeen and then back to elgin to finish... Perfect.

As long as it includes the A95 I would vote for it.

For a street circuit Edinburgh would be a great back drop... Royal Mile, up to the Castle, a few cobblestones to make it interesting.

Surfer´s Paradise would be cool, it´s got one of the best double chicanes i´ve ever seen.
Won´t be much overtaking but it looks like a fantastic track nonetheless.

Better then Valencia no doubt.
The truth will come out...

Ive always thought about a Scottish GP arround Strathclyde Country Park. Its easy for people tho get to from south and north. The track ive laid out is a bit Tilkeske, however thats the best i can come up with with what im given. One thing id be worried about with SCP is that there is a lot of houses near, and they may not want 24 F1 engines near them. However, a nice long straight is avalable.

Heres the track ive came up with:

Not sure where else could hold a Scotts GP and not piss folk off, as i know there has been allot pissed of folk in Glasgow with the 2104 Commonwealth Games bid and constructions. Nothing arround here thankfully.

Not possible. The tram lines won't be finished at the current in my life time - and I'm fit as a fiddle and not quite 30!

beelsebob - Sounds like an idea. It would need to include the coast road from Arbroath to Stonehaven. Nice and twisty and fun if you get a clear run. Over teh Cairngorms would be very impressive too! I think we are risking getting into the realms of fantasy now.

Great video, love the roads round there. I remeber trying to keep up with an Audi TT whilst driving a 1.6 Focus (hire car). Suffice to say I didn't keep up with the TT and was given a row by the passenger.

Years and years ago (when I was still at school) I was out with my folks for the day upto Ballater and that sort of general area. We had stopped just along from that bridge and couldn't get over it as someone decided that is was suitable for a tour coach. Bit of an oops!

South Africa or Canary Islands - scrap Barcelona
North Africa, wherever stability first occurs - scrap Bahrain
Austria (Red Bull Ring)- scrap Hungary
France (Paris) - scrap Malaysia

Threatened GPs definitely to be kept: Turkey, Australia, Belgium

After Soccer World Cup, our infamous arms deal , general state tender corruption , how do you think we can afford a 100% mark up on Bernie's cost to grease the palms of the politicians ?
As an example - Cape Town's SWC stadium budget was approved at Rand 1.3bil. Cost at completion R 4.3bil. The approved budget INCLUDED cost escalation over the construction period !

Another idea for getting the scottish GP going... RAF Kinloss and RAF Leuchars are likely to be up for sale in the near future... Who's got the cash to buy one of them and build a GP circuit on it?

Its still nice to dream about it though.....
