Is there a nose minimum length?

I think 700mm or 750mm?

For those who haven't seen it, here's one visualisation:

Martin Brundle said a few races ago that he was led to believe the noses will look like the 09 Brawn.

So some cars could look like the Fw-26 for the side view in 2014 but with a drooping surviving cell and a thinner nose cone

It is to be noted that the front wing is 75 mm above the reference, the honda nose looks a over 185 mm
Yeah, it will be more inclined over its length  the Honda nose mixed with this thing is 100% 2014
medically inaccurate

Honda tested another nose that year. a nosecone which is lower and closer to the 'anteater'

That's not ugly at all.
And while i'm at it those anteater Mclarens weren't ugly either, much prettier than current high nosed cars actually.

A bunch of doom mongers if you ask me...

My only problem with F1 2014 is lack of power.

Like this?

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

well this is the 2009 Brawn. But the 2014 noses won't look anything like it.

It is to be noted that the front wing is 75 mm above the reference, the honda nose looks a over 185 mm (nose tip almost in line with the front axle which would make the nose tip at around 240 mm above reference)
It also has to be noted that they are both testing hybrids from 2008 cars so of course they aren't to the 2014 regulations, but it gives an idea of what it could vaguely look like... #-o

The upper one minus the "angels-wings" might be not too far from what one would expect with the 2014 regulations.

I haven't seen any regulation for the thickness of the nose behind the minimum area defnition 50mm from the forward end of the crash structure.
As the main task for 2014 will be getting as much air flow to the diffuser I expect to see noses that allow as much airflow to the sides and under the nose as possible.
Back in 2009 they had DDD + Beam Wing thereby not so much trouble getting DF at the rear. Thus they could use wide noses which create DF at the front yet don't feed too much air into the tray/underbody area, thereby hampering somewhat the whole underbody aerodynamics including the diffuser.
With next year's regs this doesn't look like an attractive option.
So, my bet is on smallish noses somewhat similar to that Honda or the McLaren Mp4/22 possibly even steeper at the front to get more free space underneath the chassis.

I think that some teams will try the "walrus" option, as it is the one that makes for easier reproduction of the flow conditions of the current generation of cars. So a high but very short nose with pillars protruding forward, cut-out to comply with the regs A drooping nose gives a completely different flow to the underside of the nose, tea-tray and suspension: in the ned it could e also optimised, but it is a bigger leap from the current standard.

Given enough development, I think that a low nose - high chassis, maybe with pullrod front suspension, will be the most interesting configuration. Hope that some team will pull a mix between 1993 footwork and 1995 minardi
