I think that similar conditions can be achieved with the 1600 cc GRE concept. Unless I'm mistaken the WRC has already agreed to use this engine with air restrictors. F1 could be using it with a limited turbo pressure and substantial design freedom with reagards to regenerative systems. They could do away with most of the hydraulics and run the ancillary systems electrical, use the KERS as electric starters and have two stage power generation like modern stationary electricity stations do.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best ..............................organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)
