Spectacular! I think it wouldn’t have been so easy if ANT was the lead Merc, for whatever reason RUS race pace is ass with the new machines. Still, v well deserved; Santi, Grosjean and the rest of his engineering team deserve special mention too.

The only bit of winning these past 2yrs done by HAM - race proper and sprint, that’s just so weird.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

Leclerc so unlucky with that pit stop timing. Would’ve been in contention for a podium.
Typical... Plus a mechanical failure. Meanwhile the victory fell into Hamilton's lap, because of the same VSC.

Car looked miles better than the Mercedes on what is a pretty power sensitive, high speed, extreme deg track. Not a track where you would expect this car to win, since it hasn’t generally been very kind on the tyres.

This upgrade package has been monstrously good. Immediately took them from distant 2nd to firmly the fastest in race pace. The chassis and aero must be so far ahead of the Mercedes powered cars, with a large part of it likely baked in via the gearbox/chassis in irder to accomodate the FTM.

Hamilton could be in serious championship contention if the team manages to significantly reduce the power deficit with the rumoured Spa upgrade.
Hmm. I think Antonelli's pace was better than Lewis if they had stayed on the same stints. It's a better strategy overall. But considering the ADUO will bring the engine in the frame we can win lwgit on pace soon!! I'm not getting too optimistic here but leeetsss goo for the championship!!

Hehe

And finally I'm formally apologizing to Fred Vasseur for calling for him to retire.

We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

Leclerc mechanical failure…..

Which he likely caused when he crashed the car AGAIN yesterday. The front needed a rebuild and that’s where the competent that failed sits (incredibly rare for that to fail under normal conditions too).

What an incredible weekend for Ferrari. The way it started I could never have predicted a win. And a very important win. They usually say that if your car is good in Barcelona you're going to be good anywhere else. I won't get all excited about the 8th WDC because Leclerc is in the other car and he will take points of Hamilton for sure. But if they improve the car with this new engine the constructors is possible. Shame for Leclerc. He is in one of his famous bad stretches where everyting seems to go bad for him. But I'm sure he will get out of it and probably score a win of his own also. Exciting times ahead.

The pace delta on the hards was over a second, admittedly with a small tyre offset (3 laps or so) and Antonelli held up by Russell. Still, it wasn’t even close, at least on the hards.

Besides the WDC, the fight for the WCC with Mercedes may also be a real possibility now. But for that to happen, we obviously need both drivers to maximize results from now on and avoid throwing away points on silly mistakes.

Hopefully, the engine upgrades for the Austrian GP will bring even more performance improvements to the car.

Wasn’t Ferrari bringing the new engine at Spa, or has the timeline changed?

Merc seems to have reliability issues with the PU.

Ferrari will introduce a new intercooler for the Austrian GP, which will allow the engine to run at 110°C. It's the 1st part of the ADUO package.

He was looking good before the bad luck hit. The car is strong and getting stronger, he just needs a bit of consistency.
