Awesome question, i havent googled but i want to throw a funny in their... Could it be that a F1 driver of the past was given a bottle of champagne to accompany the winners trophy and proceeded to spray it everywhere flamboyantly? It would have taken someone with the balls of James Hunt to do something as bad-boy as that

Right, Sir! =D>
It was in 1967 when former F1 driver and engineer Dan Gurney and A. J. Foyt had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Gurney told the story on "The Flying Lap" with Peter Windsor last year:
It was a wonderful occasion, then [...] this bottle full of a lot of explosive bubbles [...] was handed to me and the idea, well, we were upon this platform and there were lots of photographers [...] sort of looking expectant and I thought, well, I gotta do something here and so started spraying with this giant magnum of champaign ...

And here the actual magnum of 1967 signed by Daniel Sexton Gurney

Guys, this is not much of a quiz, I just need this info -- can you name occasions when drivers lend their helments to others and the reasons behind that?
I've seen photos of Stefan Johansson in Detroit'86 wearing Mansell's helmet and vaguely remember something about Coulthard and Schumacher (not sure about that) and there were definetely other occasions, so if anyone can provide some info I would be grateful!

Schumi lent his to DC in Monaco - going to be...err..1996?

When he still had the white on the helmet and the German flag on the sides.

Hows about Kimi using a James Hunt helmet in a snowmobile race? Some rumours about that.

I heard about "James Hunt" as registration name and a Gorilla disguise for the race.
