They should just run away if they can. Everyone has to make two stops so tire wear won't really be an issue (unless starting on softs). Build a SC pitstop gap and simplify life for yourself.

Or perhaps a less boring race lol

There will be an incident I'm sure, so we won't want to burn rubber i don't think because those going long have a reasonable chance to benefit. Someone who.is a threat to us will do.that, Leclerc is often that man. So this limits us a little i think.

Hopefully its exciting, but just in case I'm bringing a pillow lol
I understand this notion and right now nothing is clear, everyone will roll the dice and today will be about luck as much as anything.
But, surely lando and the other front runners will start on softs to avoid being jumped into turn 1?
And if so I'd imagine that we dwont have to go too far down the grid to get a medium or hard runner? (Perhaps hadjar or even lewis)

If both of those is true then we will be forced to use the rubber to build a pitstop gap ASAP to pit into before the softs drop off and those medium/hard runners stay in front after first stops on slow and worn rubber going long?
Today is about getting both pitstops out the way whilst remaining as far up the running order as possible, that can only be done by pushing each stint rather than saving.

Of course it's not entirely that simple as any vsc, red flags, safety cars will alter that but that surely has to be the ideal strategy to work to from the off?

Aside from that we are at a slight disadvantage compared to Ferrari and redbull in that the other 2 will have both drivers working for the main driver out front. There's no way oscar will do that and therefore this complicates things for the team.
Will oscar let lando past if lando pits before him and is coming for behind fast?

I don't think front runners will start on softs (remember this year medium was soft last year).

Starting on mediums gives you performance and two hards give you options, you can have two long stints if there is a red flag early.

Yeah maybe. We are the wildcard though since we got a second fast lap on the softest tyre and Lando knew it wasn't a risk.

I'm not sure what will happen, I'm just of the opinion there are a lot of possibilities. Including the boys going reasonably long on the softest tyre. Lando with his tyre management could be sensational today.

Monaco is closest to Singapore and we know what Lando did in Singapore. I hope Leclerc is sensible at the start, surely his worry is behind him.

I'm not expecting it to be as eventful as some others, apart from the lower points positions.

Lewis will go long, so need to open the gap on him.

Uh, what? Charles starting P2 in Monaco, in a year where he hasn't even sniffed a win, it doesn't get more aggressive than that. If there's any opening he will absolutely launch on Lando, he could worry less about the positions behind.

After last year's snooze fest, with the McLarens unable to attack the Ferrari for the lead, now we have a new obligatory 2 pit stops rule. I can't help but feel that this will work against McLaren today, especially Lando, undoing the amazing work he did yesterday.

I pray to God that this won't be the case 🙏

I'm afraid of accidents. They can quickly ruin our race. Monaco is dangerous anyway, especially now that we have so many rookies. :?

In less than half an hour we are gonna have a race start. Let us hope for the best result from both drivers and may the team stand lucky in what will happen today. In any case I wish for the best result possible.

We will need some luck that's for sure. It will all be in the timing and who gets that luck.

If this is going to be flat out stints it should bring thermal degradation into play, which should play into McLaren's hands. It's critical Lando holds position into turn 1. Safety cars could really mess this up.

My bet is M-H-H and try to open up a gap, if there are SC or red flag change to hards.

Let's go Mclaren. Full speed ahead.

VSC. Now what happens? Do we put them inside or wait?

Man this is going to be hectic with so many rookies.
Go hard, go long and save second stop for safety car, red flag or second to last lap
