I get they need more mediums for a sprint weekend. So they've trade 2 softs from a regular weekend for 1 medium for sprint. Just surprised they took tires away on a weekend there is double the qualifying and .5 more racing.-wkst- wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025, 07:5013 sets would make the weekend much more predictable, the exact opposite what sprint weekends should be.
Because what would happen? Obviously this 13th set would be a soft (because there are enough other tyres available) and teams/drivers would use it in FP1 to fine tune everything. Currently most drivers/teams only do 1 flyer in FP1 on the soft to reuse it in SQ3 or in Q.
They use about the same amount of tyres.
I doubt that a Spa rear wing will be used in Hungary. Likely he meant other stuff, like a front wing.

normal week:
FP1: 2 sets
FP2: 2 sets
FP3: 2 sets
7 new sets left for Q
sprint week:
FP1: 2 sets
SQ: 3 sets
S: 1 set
6 new sets left for Q, sometimes 7 new sets (using the SQ1 or SQ2 set in the sprint, sometimes 8 new sets (using the SQ1 or SQ2 set in the sprint and reuse the soft from FP1 and SQ3).
With the difference that in a normal weekend all tyres from FP1, FP2 and FP3 has to be given back. In a sprint weekend only 2 sets (1 FP1 set and the sprint set) has to be given back. All others can be reused.

Sorry, I miss read all of this. The C1 is the harder tire. So they went one step harder with the hards and not one step softer with the softs. So the Mediums and the Softs are the same as last year and the hards got 1 steps harder.diffuser wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025, 05:03It's kind of a half a$$ed approach. If they would have gone with c1, c2 and c3 instead. It would have forced everyone to a High DF configuration, therefore, a bigger speed difference down the DRS sections.zoroastar wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025, 04:51yeah i believe they have to use medium in Q1 and Q2, and soft for Q3. pretty much everything related to the sprint weekends are a fail to me so far. id just about rather watch them practice hahadiffuser wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 23:15
Not sure what the point is there. Nobody used the C2 in the race last year. The C1 will been even further forgotten. Nobody is gonna touch the hards until race day. They'll do their best to make use of the C1 for Quali, cause you really don't have another choice. You only have 3 sets of Mediums, you'll you'll need 1 set of mediums for Sprint race....Don't they have to uses medium for Sprint Quali? or can they use the C1?
Once again the twitter heros and other unreliable sources were absolutely wrong with their suspension stuff...performance updates:
- front wing:
Front wing assy based on a previous version with modified sections to suit the revised nose. At this event it is introduced with a low powered flap.
- nose:
Shorter nose with the wing mounted from the second element.
circuit specific updates:
- rear wing:
Upper rear wing with smaller sections for reduced front view area.
- beam wing:
Single element beam wing.
- front wing:
Front wing flap for the front wing used at the previous event with reduced chord

AFAIK suspension configuration changes don’t get included these.-wkst- wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025, 10:11Once again the twitter heros and other unreliable sources were absolutely wrong with their suspension stuff...performance updates:

The New front wing fit with the Silverstone's floor, but, that floor is good for on closely to the ground setups and for Spa they cant use this, so they will test the new front wing with the Imola's floor spec and could be not well has they expected, or yes, if the new front wing will be nice with imola's floor, they will keep new front wing for the rest of wekend, or they back to the old front wing and the new will return to Hungary ( with the Silverstone's floor") to complete the final package). They cant test everything because they have just 1 practice. I resumed the Andy Cowell's anwser for some interviwersSSJ4 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025, 10:58
I am confused. They brought parts to complete Silverstone package. But old floor will be used. Only thing I can assume it since it’s a wet race they haven’t got the optimal ride height for the new floor. But I’m sure people will be able to see if it’s the new floor or old floor in here
