good recovery today, Monaco might be very painful, Charles said he thinks its going to bring out the worst aspects of the car and then today was asked if today makes him optimistic about Monaco at the end of the post race interview, says no and walks off smiling
I thought you were exaggerating but the video is even more damning

A track of slow corners where qualifying decides the final order, we will need a serious improvement from Miami and Imola to even get 3 points.
Great driver, but he risks losing team support and possibly the points battle to Lewis if he stays so negative. I know he has high expectations after so many years, as a driver of his talent deserves a front row car, but he may well talk his own negativity into being.
Monaco can be good for the team. The car does not need to be compromised for high and low speed and aero efficiency. The team can use the China setup in Monaco with less risk of scraping away the floor. So i think they will be decent in Monaco. He can focus on trying to win at home again, as crazy as that sounds.
Hamilton is coming from a crap car, so is okay with just making progress. He's basically in Russell's position when he left the Williams and joined Mercedes, so there will be more patience with Lewis and more reflection even when results are not there.
Is it fair to say the brake upgrade helped with the race pace in Imola? Charles was going really fast on the hards.
Lewis also had pace but was just stuck behind Antonelli.
