His outlap was faster than Lando on mediums... Idk why Max is doing fast outlaps and overheating tyres by last sector.
Because he is an amateur that has no basic understanding of getting heat into tires versus overheating them?

Or what are you going for?
He could be experimenting?

I'm just curious as to why is there such variability on his outlaps, never noticed this before.

FYI max did do a normal(slow) outlap for Q3

No need to twist what I said, save that for Twitter.
No need to say that twisting is going on. I just repeat your words and question why you wrote them. Outside of the insinuation you are making your answer is at least much better than your original thesis so it was good of me to question you.

Yes, he was, they all were I guess, looking for the grip as that is extremely hard to get right here.

The rear end really looks stable and hooked up. No over driving either

Yep. Couldn’t fully push it to the inside of the corners but otherwise nice and controlled. I wás actually quite impressed by the step he took. Weird that the second run slipped away (from all).

Clean and steady lap. Very telepathic car and driver very sharp on the pedals. No sense of understeer in the car's body language.
For Sure!!

Jenson Button was once doing commentary on a pole lap few years ago, everyone was pointing out how smooth and stable it was (hitting apex etc) while he went on saying understeer here and understeer there

I find it interesting that Leclerc isn't doing his "throttle thing" around this track.

I've seen him doing it at every track since mid 2018.

Aston Martin's Chinese GP right of review has been dismissed just now, great timing.

Alonso's going to war against the FIA

The same tyre could do 40 laps last year no problem with relatively little degradation.. I think it will not be a big problem

Anyone have the tyre allocation for the race? I hate how long Pirelli take to release the infographic for it.

the track surface having a micro roughness 30% greater than last year, probably as a result of the super high-pressure water treatment it had received since then. With the gap between the small stones so much greater, there is less chemical bonding between the rubber and the track’s surface
.

From Mark Hughes. Seems the track surface has changed a lot since last year which may be causing some of the evident tyre issues. Might lead to more deg/interesting strategy as well but won't hold my breath

it's in the F1.com strategy guide:

-> with tire age additions by myself:

First time I have seen drivers attacking a lap and going slower than before because they were doing exactly what they're supposed to do : push hard in Qualifying.

These tires are really garbage and way to fickle.
