Alfa Romeo has since 1966 tried no less than five different engine configurations in Formula 1, name and xplain how and why?

1. 1966 Inline 4 cylinder provided to small teams including Cooper and DeTomaso.
2. 1970 a V8 supplied to McLaren and March.
3. 1976 a flat-12 for Brabham, 50 more horses than a Cossie, but thirsty.
4. 1979 a V-12 for Brabham, at Gordon Murray's request to accommodate the under-body venturis.
5. 1983 a turbo 1.5 liter V-8 in a works car and supplied to Osella.
Heaven: Where the cooks are French, the police are British, the lovers are Greek, the mechanics are German, and it is all organized by the Swiss.

Hell: Where the cooks are British, the police are German, the lovers are Swiss, the mechanics are French, and it is all organized by the Greeks.

The unraced Alfa was going to be my question. Ha!

I'll leave it open as I really can't think of a good question now.

Canada 91 with PIquet in the Benetton? B191? Cannot remember when the big three all took semi gearboxes.

ferrari in 89...McLaren in the middle of 1991? and Williams in 199? SO I thought the last non big three win for some time was this one, was it?
