i think the fact the car has been in development so long, plus the mercedes-benz engine is what's doing it

plus a little bit of light fueling and hey presto, you're 1 second faster than anyone else

you can see the car is well developed, their wind tunnel data was obviously correct...

No - the diffuser should never stall. (The rear wing is mostly always semi-stalled - as I have alluded to earlier)

There was a pile of bullsh!t running around a few years ago that Ferrari or someone were toying with a stalling diffuser.

The people that came to that conclusion obviously were not paying attention to what would cause a diffuser to stall, and why you would not want to play with that particular fire.

Otherwise you end up killing a driver at Eau Rouge or 130R or similar.

That's a bet all in itself. I say they'll survive though.

According to AFCA, FIA have asked Williams to remove Shark fins as it impedes driver being taken out of the cockpit in case of an accident. Williams have agreed to comply.

I remember the Ferrari story, it does seem that the aero balance on the McLaren is all over the place to be that affected by wind.

That wouldn't be a huge surprise...

Quite unlikely...

considering they all stall to one degree or another.

Their problems are a lot more fundamental than a moving separation point.

I believe they just have a very poor weight distribution and are clamouring to get as much downforce at the rear as possible to counter-act it...and it seems they haven't been able to do so yet.
Will we see the shark fin???

I wonder why they haven't tried it yet. In my understanding it helps rear end stability.

Actually, now would be the time to add - wouldn't it be the "skate-fin" that has to be removed? The FIA had no problems with the sharkfin for a whole year, after all... And it's not in the way of the driver's removal - while the skate-fin is.

That's Nicolas Todt, Jean's son, and manager of Felipe Massa (and Sebastien Bourdais). He hangs out in Ferrari's garage, so he kinda is from Ferrari. Note his Ferrari headset as well...
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

It's brilliant really, they couldn't have sent anyone worse to spy... I mean who isn't going to recognise Schumi?
