You do realise that since Mercedes managed to put a plug in Schumacher's technical failures he has scored 41 points compared to Nico's 28?

Or are you suggesting that Schumacher should have got out of the car himself at China to change his wheels? Or he should have personally inspected his fuel intake valve at Monaco?

If only Schumacher had simultaneously performed the job of DRS mechanic at Bahrain and Canada! What a liability he is!

Isn´t it funny ?
Lauda came in and first thing he said :You spend too much money -look at Sauber1
second: hire the most expensive driver and leave him all freedom to devlop his own brand
third :look for the single most expensive technical person in Formula 1 ... wag the dog or what?

he already knows MGP has all the equipment to be a front runner ...after taking a brief look .But maybe he should first try to fathom what other teams might have in their armoury- a days conultancy with Toyota in cologne should or could open his eyes in that regard maybe this would be the first 100K well spent.... :wtf:

i´m pretty sure Newey would tell them a completely different story and his humble 8 millions per year would be peanuts compared with the horde of specialists and special tools he has learned to love and appreciate around him.... =D> =D>

Someone should ask Bobby Rahal for his opinion on Lauda joining Merc.

They promise that something is right around the corner.

The best analogy I can think of is this.

When a married man has a girlfriend on the side, at some point, the girlfriend starts demanding something more out of the relationship. Usually this happens when the married man starts bitching about his wife all the time. He then promises the girlfriend that "When a few things get settled up, I will divorce her, and we will get married."

This then plays out for a few years. There's always excuses made, and promises meant to tide the girl over.

That's what Ross and the Hutt's strategy has been since 2010. They keep promising things for the next year, or the year after. Then when the time comes, they say the schedule had to be changed, or that they had to bring in a new person, so things were delayed.

I'm with you.

In this case however the married man has seen the most awesome girl and she's not a darn sight interested in his money because she can sort herself. She realises this married man comes with way too many suitcases that needs unpacking and thats before the kids suitcases are even hauled out.

This whole Mercedes Benz GP team is a sham. Poor Petronas. Wonder if they know what they bought into...
All they brand is being associated with is failure. BMW before Mercedes...How long before they give up? TBH I think they're just waiting for another Works team to associate with. Their strategy to use recognised brands to showcase their pubricant technology is backfiring badly

i guess its easier to blame the performance on schumacher to the board than to admit the car is ****
till the end of july michael had the option on his behalf to sign a new contract. though only for 2013. he wanted a option to decide for 2014 on his behalf. maybe merc didn't agree on this, so there was a kind of stalemate i suppose.
there is an article i've read months ago. was after monaco gp actually. cannot find the link.

Supposedly we'll be hearing soon that Coca Cola will be joining Mercedes as a major sponsor. It's being speculated that this Coca Cola money will be funding Hamilton's large salary. That's a huge score for Mercedes. It also makes me wonder if we could see Pepsi sponsoring a different team soon.

Tell you what ..we have grown to become MGP haters choosing your words here.
In fact all of those who have chosen to flame them since 2010 and 2011 actually had high hopes for the team and the flak MGP is receiving here is plain justified .
Bang for buck this team is an outright disaster and I fail to see any positives these days.,,apart from a glimpse of hope when
both cars manage to slip into the top 10 on Friday practise..
any other positives? feel free to list .I fear this list will not be very long not even considering they are in year three of their championship campaign.
The win ? to me you can happily count this towards Pirelli lottery it was no different to Maldonados Barcelona win .MGP had one more race with significant speed -Monaco and sorry that´s simply not enough for a works team.

Honestly Marcush, the only thing holding me back is 2013. When the Willis/Costa announcements were made, we all agreed that we wouldn't see the full effect of this until the W04 just as we didn't see the full effect of Bell until the W03. With those opinions established, I decided back then that I'd be willing to *tolerate* their lack of performance until 2013 and I'm standing by that.

If the W04 sucks, I'm going to be peeved.

Now sure, I could then say, "Perhaps they're pouring their resources into the 2014 formula, and maybe they won't get it right until the W06, or the W07!" The honest answer is all fans hope that their team's next car will be even better. I'm no different, but I'll be saying those things through gritted teeth.

I'll start shouting, "What the hell are these guys doing!?! Come on!! You're MERCEDES FFS!!!", in 2013 if the car isn't up to snuff.

As for the term "Merc Haters", there are two groups within this thread who are critical of the team, but only one of those groups is doing it for fun. I don't think you're ripping on the team for fun Marcush, I think you're just fed up and frustrated. I'm getting there too. When I say, "Merc Haters" I'm referring to the other group. Every board has them. They get off on upsetting people, and right now they see Merc as the path of least resistance. The team is underperforming and they smell vulnerable fans. 'Cause that's what good people do. ;)

That could be. As a California company, I love seeing Monster in F1. That said, Monster is a $10 Billion copmany, while Coca Cola is a $170 Billion company. Coca-Cola could be a name sponsor if they wanted to be... "Mercedes AMG Coca-Cola"... hm. I don't think it'll go that far, but suffice to say, as a sponsor Coca Cola could easily help out with something as large as Hamilton's pay check.
