Good question Matt, never thought of one, other that TAG became outspended by Honda?

Also, it was purpose-designed for a venturi underbody, perhaps that was a handicap?

It weighed too much and was an unreliable dog

It was not a problem with the outer design nor weight.

I would not say it was unreliable, has it has 25 victories, 3 DWC and 2 CWC under its belt.

Engine didn't respond well to the high boost pressures in qualifying. Only 7 pole positions in 4 years.

I think that is correct zonk, it was designed in 1982 to John Barnard's specifications, meaning xtremely light an compact,
which did not match well with the at the time unforeseen qualifying boosts of 4-5 bar and 1300+ Hp of BMW and Honda.

That´s it.

IMO, this had been due to a design issue with the ports which had to be compromised for the ground effect idea and the combustion chamber. I think compactness and weight had nothing to do with it. ButI do not have any source for the real issue.

It's a Van Hool-Cosworth, a typical 70s kit-car, made in Belgium, but never raced.
