Part of being successful is taking a chance. Do you honestly think Schumacher would have been so successful in the wet if he never took a chance?

Maybe Hamilton should start taking some chances rather than just doing what the team tell him.
No doubt he would be the Messiah, as he could drive on water!

Not studied much geography since school, but I don't recall Stevenage being in the upper Antilles!

Subtleness clearl lost on me? with that sledgehammer remark? You are having a laugh mate.

It is absurd to go againt what the team with hundreds of engineers and some weathermen with access to radar tell you... if you mistrust the teams decision making abilities that much you should find a better one. Button is no magic man, if he was he would have had more than just 1 win before last year.

That being said weather is unpredictable and teams will sometimes get it wrong.

It could be because I didn't really grasp his tone (not being native english speaker and having lots of engine noise in the background didn't really help) but... could it be that he was asking an honest question? Like "please confirm if you'd rather see me conserve the car over racing Massa".
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Loaded and rather pointless comment I'm afraid. People are seemingly having a hard time grasping that simply looking at out-and-out speed at various points during qualifying or a race does not correllate with results. The simple arithmetic on race wins is:

Button 2 Hamilton 0

Those race wins came about because of driver brains and thinking, no less. That's what's required this season. The way things are looking it's entirely probable Lewis won't get another victory this season.
Those wins came about with luck. Jenson looks very average in all other races, where was the intelligence and experience in the other 4?

Instead of stating the wins, you should state the points score. Lewis is down 11 points and will recover them probably by the next race. Button is done for. His shine is gone. he is looking very average now, letting 2 FI get around him , and a 41 year old owning him every race.

The way things are looking Lewis is the only driver outside of redbull who can win another race you mean. If he can't get a victory, that means only webber and vettel can win.

You make it sound as if Button will win more, when he can't qualify past 5th or 8th.
Redbull is the only thing stopping Hamilton from being champion. If anything I think Lewis still can pull this one off somehow.
For Sure!!

You know predicting weather is a completely different thing to taking a chance with the limits of the car. Completely different, i don't know why you chose to compare them.

What Button did is what ferrari did with Kimi with the wet weather tyres. A complete gamble.
The gamble would not look intelligent had it backfired.

The thread is pretty much just a load of haters and fans, spouting the same crap on a different day, using different words. PLEASE, for the love of god, grow up.

We know that all the haters hate, and all the fans love, but get over it. It's like watching a bunch of monkeys throwing their faeces at each other, and it doesn't add anything of purpose to F1Technical.net.

No, not really. I just can't see it. If i was biased i would say that the Mclaren in the hands of Lewis is faster than the redbulls. I was being very objective in looking at the 4 normal races. Look at the people in first 2 rows on the grid in those races, and who came on the podium.
If it's not a redbull, it's Alonso or Hamilton. Best of the rest is the ferarri and the Mclaren. like last year Hamliton was fifth in the championship, or you can say best of the rest to the 2redbull and 2brawn.
Looking on 2007, 2008, 2009, i wont be surprised he will be best of the rest in 2010, assuming Mclaren does not reach redbull's level. So saying redbull is stopping him is very accurate.
Redbull is stopping these 2 men from dominating. I have nothing against Button, i am quite neutral to him, but judging from what happened in the 4 normal races, i can't see why i would be biased in my observation.
For Sure!!

I read as far as pitpass throwing it's weight behind alonso , what weight is that ?
I take it it is somebody having a laugh
to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be

What Hamilton said:
I always try to catch up with Thierry when I'm in Barcelona, I'm a big Arsenal fan so for me it's a real honour to have him star in the game.
PitPass are obviously not Arsenal fans...
