Being almost 3 tenths slower in q3 than in q2 is disappointing. Havent seen the lap so not sure if it was traffic or car snaps etc
Commentators were talking about the wind having changed. But don't know if that's the reason

The track between turn 8 and 9 looks pretty straight, running east to west. That means going into 8 you're south bound and going into 9 you're turning north bound. At tgevof qualifying the wind was out of the SW 4kph.

Both Ferraris were slightly slower in Q3 too, but Max and the McLarens improved. Piastry by 3 tenths. Max and Hadjar by 2 tenths. But I guess the cars react different to wind too. https://www.formula1.com/en/results/202 ... qualifying
Hoping for some rain during the race.

Just watched the post qualy interviews and Alonso said P10 is what we deserve today. But he also said they have different tire selection than some other teams "so hopefully tomorrow pays off".

"If you just hook it up, it's a track where you could find sort of four-tenths from not really doing much different. It's just one small slide, the tyres overheat and then you sort of lose a couple of tenths in the subsequent corners, whereas other laps you can just be like 1% below the limit, you have no slides and you just have more and more grip and a really strong lap time comes.
It’s a quote from Russell but I think it applies to us all qualifying. The car was not the same as yesterday probably due to wind and then once the sliding started the tyres cooked and that was that.

I believe the broadcast said Alonso had an extra set of hard tyres, but I do not know how that will prove advantageous.

Well, in my opinion the car deserved more today. Especially STR is just a shame, bin it 2 times in a week…

Alonso has a set of softs and hards so let's see hwo that plays out. Looking at onbaords, The car looked a lot more uneasy in Quali compared to yesterday . Not sure why. Honestly a double points would eb damage limitation cause racing bulls is about to score massively.
Halo not as bad as we thought

Just looked at the forecast. High chance of rain tomorrow but in the morning. At race time, it's a 20% chance of rain.

This could be a blessing if it dries before the start. That means Alonso will not be starting on a dirty side of the track.

Very top teams will often leave a little bit of room for improvement for Q3. Plus Max is just demonically talented.

Midfield teams making it to Q3 more often have already done everything possible in Q2, and then Q3 is just down to conditions and a prayer, and with only one attempt with fresh tires.

i think the rain hurt us. the car was much less hooked up after the showers. not sure about the wind, but it looked like a different car from yesterday. unless they made some changes they shouldnt have. i dont understand how they end up going into quali short on softs. they didnt run anything but softs during practice did they? mclaren can do that, we cant

They had 1 new set of new softs in q3. They did waste a set of softs on a canceled run, cause he made it through.

Just watched a qualy re run. Car looked super super twitchy. Had a lot of steering inputs compared to FP2. Yesterday was the hottest day and the wind. Probably meant the car wasn’t in the right window. Alonso said he made a mistake in q3. Lost about 2 tenths
