kind of expected position in qulay.. in the mix with merc.. i think if Charles had 2nd run i think he would have been closer to max. shame not sure why they wasted 2 sets in q1, also even tho that set of Tyre was only done outlap it had no life left when he used it again in q2, its insane how this track basically kills Tyre even on outlap..
Ferrari mis-managed LEC's quali by sending him out a 2nd time in both Q1 and Q2 to waste 2 new sets on which he did 1 and 2 laps. This is the first real mistake since australia I think...
Is that why he only did one lap in Q3?

That being said, as I wrote yesterday, aside from MCL, everyone else is very close. Rosberg's opinion is worth about as much as his championship, nothing.
Great result from Lewis. Ferrari lost Charles 2-3 quali places by sending him out in FP3 on soft (using 2 soft in the session).
He has an extra medium for the race but if he gets stuck behind Kimi (I'm expecting Merc to eat their tyres in the race) it won't be worth much. P3 was there for the taking today. It is frustrating, if the were only going to do 1 run in Q3 then wait till the end or slightly after Alonso did his run. Or do what max does, run in the gap between everyone 1st and 2nd laps in Q1. Finally, it is part of the game, but two weeks in row Max has been in an non ideal place for Charles in Q3.
Happy for Lewis, hope he can battle George and Max into turn 1.
Silverstone can not come soon enough.

I guess Ferrari/Lec are confident that the extra mediums will be a benefit during the race. Hopefully the deg is really high then.
This is likely a one stop race and being in traffic really goes against any two stop strategy attempt on this track since it's really hard to overtake.
If the team knew they only had one set of new tyres, why didn't they wait until the end of the session? where the track improvement was obvious . What this team is doing to this boy is outrageous and depressing.

yeah. they just admitted
Charles: "Are you convinced that there will be 2 stops tomorrow? It hasn't always been the case, but I hope so, because if it isn't, today's sacrifice will have been for nothing. With the 2 mediums, I hope it will pay off."
Charles also hopes they can have a shot at the podium because their race pace is really good, but it will depend on how much they will be able to overtake.
