Well I admire his optimism but I feel like the team should've tried harder to shut him down on this one

It was obvious he was going for this after FP3 but I still think waiting for the end of Q3 would've been much better even if a little unsafer since higher chance for a yellow. Going out early is the main issue...

I guess Ferrari/Lec are confident that the extra mediums will be a benefit during the race. Hopefully the deg is really high then.
This is likely a one stop race and being in traffic really goes against any two stop strategy attempt on this track since it's really hard to overtake.
when was the last time Spain was one stop?

I think 3rd was there for Charles with two runs in Q3, so that’s both a shame but also mildly encouraging when it comes to the pace on a certain like this. I think the smoother nature of the track may be allowing them to run the car a little lower tbh, which may be helping - a bit like Mercedes did better at Spain in 2022 than anywhere else.

Still, bearing in mind the upgrades are to come, being in the mix with Max and Mercedes isn’t too bad. A podium may be possible - presuming the race pace follows its usual trends - and then it’s all about the new floor and, in particular, the new suspension. Too late for any championships but could be a better second half to the season.

Leclerc has to jump Kimi at the start and both the cars have to keep Russell under check.

Team work is key tomorrow to not finish where we started and move up front.

Hope the race pace of FP1 is still left in the car. Plenty possible if they are a little daring.

Charles also hopes they can have a shot at the podium because their race pace is really good, but it will depend on how much they will be able to overtake.
Ferrari will be very strong in the race stint. They usually are.

I don't think Leclerc call was the right one.
Yeah maybe the tyres will provide an advantage over Verstappen but he is also starting P7 which will completely --- his first stint.

Leclerc had tremendous pace this quali. His lap, considering the track, was amazing.

This temperature drop provided a huge advantage for the others, especially in the third sector.

So it’s a two stop race I completely forgot about last year.

LEC needs a good start and first lap to make any sense of that tire advantage otherwise he will be stuck in traffic like last year

Oh well woulda coulda shoulda, he has to blamed for being out qualified this weekend. He was on the backfoot for some reason. I think the run timing in Q2 was off for him. Anyhow Lewis did the job when it mattered. P3 was possible, but then again, when the car is pushed hard here the tyres slide, so maybe P5 was the maximum, but displacing Lewis to P6.

It makes sense to save tyres for the race as this race will be a 2 stop. 1 stop does not work well at this track. The track is flowing and overtaking is possible.

I think we can expect a Podium from Lewis if he plays his cards right. He usually does at this track with his pace and Ferrari seems to have good pace and strategy. Charles can podium also if he gets past Kimi.
Russel will fade a way, and may just take out Max, or Force red bull to prevent an under cut.
For Sure!!

Best that Ferrari can expect is P4. That's my reading.

Ham really seems to think a podium is on for tomorrow, guess we'll see
Hamilton : "We're not as fast as Red Bull or McLaren, especially on a single lap, but I think our race pace is at a higher level. Tomorrow, the podium is my goal, so to get there we need to be aggressive from the first corner. Massimo Attacco (maximum attack).

His Italian is now at two words per day. 8)
So what do they start on, Mediums?
M-H-M ?
Or M-M-S?

I think we may have a safety car due to mechanical failure or puncture in the race.
For Sure!!

P3 & P5 is what I expect tomorrow from Lec & Ham.
