Depressing season.
I wish Hamilton the best of luck for next year, as I have a feeling he is going to need a lot of it driving for this team. They aren't necessarily perennially clueless or unprofessional, just very inconsistent over a season.
Last year Mercedes stopped development much before the other teams but they maintained their position on the grid, sometimes showing good pace. This year they just cannot understand whats going on. Its baffling to see where they have ended up after starting the season with a very fast car. I still remember the post qualifying press conference in Australia where Michael was talking about how amazing the car feels to drive, comparing his steering inputs for W02 and W03.marcush. wrote: Surprisingly not all teams who challenge MGP these days have pushed in terms of updates -namely Force India has stopped all activity on 2012s contender months ago but still has managed to edge closer to MGP...a clear indicator that MGP has lost
direction big time at the track for whatever reasons .
He was hoping to get another lap at the end, but was a few seconds to late, again...tomaswrx wrote:what happened with shumi in q2?
It will definitely help. More updates, more answers, more options.spadeflush wrote:Daimler has apparently decided to pump in extra millions to kick start the lewis hamilton project.

I personally believe no amount of money is going to guarantee them success. Money cannot buy teamwork. As marcush says above, the team has horrendously lost its way. Unless their understanding capabilities do not improve, the extra money is going to go down the drain.
Money helps, I am just saying Mercedes needs more than just an increased budget to improve. Teams with much lower budgets (Force India, Sauber) have been able to consistently beat them this year so something needs to be changed in the way track/factory operations are carried out. Looking from the outside it seems that there is no real sense of direction in terms of decision making. They clearly do not lack in resources. Optimization is the key, with whatever budget they have.Mika1 wrote:It will definitely help. Apart from the inbox part, which I assume, it was like this:marcush. wrote:Rosberg at least managing to get into 'Q3 but again Schumacher not making it around in time ...unbelievable...schumacher asked several times if he is going to get another lap ...lousy timing ...the driver is not well placed to judge how quick he needs to go to make that call...

[Driver is in the Box]
Team: "Michael you have 2 flying laps, use the first to condition the tires, we go out in x minutes"
<Heard in teamradio on TV>
[Driver is in his 1st flying lap]
MSC: "Do I have another lap?"
Team: "Negative"![]()
[Driver comes to Box after crossing the line too late]
Team: "Sorry Michael"
But the team already blamed Michael, they said he used Kers wrong.
