i have observed you for months. when it comes down to Mclaren-Honda you are an eternal optimist.
Let him keep doing that, it keeps me going when I feel lost.

Whereas you appear to be a perpetual pessimist.
my pessimism is based on facts , gradually , evidently accumulated across past few years.
your optimism is not even an observation , its just plain hope.

Let's not make this a what-kind-of-personality-do-you-have? topic.

Well he is running again, so the Engine didn't implode.

And no i clearly see the Issues they had and still have, but i chose not to let that drag me down.

Also let's end that Off Topic Discussion here please.

*edit*
McLaren says Vandoorne encountered some set-up niggles after the second installation lap, but it's nothing major and after a few tweaks should be back out on track shortly.
Agree with Thunders !! Positive thinking !! =D> =D>

Not sure what Kvyat and Toro Rosso are doing this morning... they seem to be posting very slow lap times, so presumably testing something quite specific. Or Kvyat isn't used to the car yet.

Current "optimistic" hope - McLaren have sorted the oil reservoir, but wanted to test it thoroughly before confirming all good. Vandoorne is getting the car tweaked to suit whilst running short stints before going out for a proper run for full aero testing.

Not sure what caused the stop in the pit entrance though - is it possible that antistall wasn't enabled and he stalled it on pit entry?

I guess they just found the correct oil sump plug
It is worrying though; First day, potential design flaw in its Oil tank.. pretty fundamental. Especially when they've fitted a 'new one' yesterday which was potentially flawed too. They reported yesterday that a new one would arrive tomorrow. Did they already fitted the new one today? Or what.. If its still flawed.. I'm worried even more..
We won't know until they have actually fixed that issue. Redesigning an entire oil tank isn't something they can do that quick. I'm afraid these issues don't show up in testing on the bench since you have no G forces applying to the oil inside the tank.

Edit: Good oil tank read: http://scarbsf1.com/?p=3383
Not being an expert but I would have thought that you could run the engine laid 45% to the left and to the right to simulate the oil being pushed to the side under G's.

Or is that too simplified?
